There is now a clear division between the local police and civic authorities and Trump’s private stormtrooper ICE army. This is spreading across the US as these incidents, of which this is the worst, carry on. I just hope more innocent people don’t continue to die before that country regains its senses.

My first thought seeing the footage on the news just now was that she must have panicked at the sight of several armed men in a variety of combat gear (including balaclavas) getting out of their mostly unmarked truck and demand she get out of the vehicle and tried to get away.

Hopefully the correct facts come out in the enquiry and justice is served but that won't make a lot of difference to the families impacted.

There won’t be any enquiry. Trump administration has already given a thumbs up for the ICE actions. “She weaponised the vehicle & they were within their rights with their actions.”. Shameful.

Didn't see that first time round and caught that snippet later.

It looked like she was waving a few cars through at the start and then panicked when confronted. The only damage done by her vehicle was after she was shot and it crashed so it's hardly weaponising it.

Any enforcement agency that carries out a lethal action should have it scrutinised to ensure that there was no other possible course of action and to learn what can be learned from the events so that it doesn't have to happen again.

But this is the current US so who knows...

My thoughts exactly. Also think of my 36 year old daughter that lives in the states, and that is exactly how she would have reacted.

Of course there is a medium likelihood we may be living through our own version of this in 3 years time.

At least we don't have the gun culture though, yet.

Got to say I dont think we can entirely rule out the possibility we get invaded and taken over by them at some point in the long term, unless we massively massively increase defence spending. More likely we become a vassal state though (well, more of a vassal state).

Ironically this is the very reason Americans were given the 2A rights, which the very perpetrators have been jacking off about for years.
