This price adjustment is nothing more than a token gesture due to all the grief the ticket prices have generated, it has nothing to do with shifting tickets, there's hardly any of them at these prices (388, 400 and 480 in total for the three England group games).
I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the England games, along with the likes of Brazil, Argentina, France, Holland and Spain, will sell out in no time, no matter what the cost. It's the other games that won't. 55,000 to see the likes of Cape Verde v The Cayman Islands, I doubt it very much. More likely to be 25k local school kids, mams and dads given free tickets.

FIFA has announced "more affordable" tickets for all 104 matches at next year's World Cup after an outcry over pricing.

The cheapest tickets will now be on offer from $60 (£45) as part of a new "Supporter Entry Tier" which will be available specifically to supporters of qualified teams.

However, only 10% of participating member association's allocated tickets will fall under this most affordable category.

As a result, the number of $60 tickets for each game is likely to be in the hundreds, rather than thousands.
problem is you have to bring your own ladder to get to your seat on the roof

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is set to meet early next month to Review Brazils Participation in the WorldCup2026.
I think it very much depends on what happens over the coming weeks and what guarantees are given regarding supporter safety. ... what has been documented happening is that people of colour, people of non colour, people who 'look' foreign, people who speak they way they dont like and even US Nationals are being detained, abused, beaten and of course executed. I can see passports going missing, people going missing, especially if confronted. Can you imagine the carnage of these cretins wading onto a group of any nations supporters who have had a drink or two and if you're unlucky enough to have games played in blue states, watch your back.

So, ask yourself, as a nation like Brazil who bring the carnival to the World Cup and based on the extradition of many from South America, are your people more important than a football tournament. Damn right they are and it won't just be Brazil thinking about it.

Good job they don’t randomly kill people in Brazil isnt it
Amnesty International urges a prompt, independent, impartial and internationally supervised investigation into the deadliest police operation in the state’s history.

Amnesty International strongly condemns the massacre that occurred during “Operation Containment” carried out on 28 October in the Alemão and Penha favelas in Rio de Janeiro – the deadliest in the state’s history – which left at least 121 people dead, including four police officers, and multiple reports of extrajudicial executions by civilian and military police.

“What took place in Rio de Janeiro was not a security operation, it was a massacre. Over a hundred people, most of them black and living in poverty, were killed in an operation planned and carried out by the state itself. The authorities must urgently conduct a prompt, independent and impartial investigation, and request international oversight to ensure its effectiveness,” said Ana Piquer, Americas director at Amnesty International. “The government of Cláudio Castro in Rio de Janeiro has turned its security policy into a policy of death. This must cease immediately,” she added.

And they will go no question

I think unless the US bans any country from entering (Iran etc), every country will go to the World Cup at this stage.

But if anything happens whilst there this could be the straw that breaks the camels back and afterwards FIFA would be in real trouble.

Will the fine upstanding, salt of the Earth English FA be thinking about it.How about Lineker,Neville,Wright et al with their faux outrage, will they be first to board the plane?

All the bubbling over Qatar prior to that particular tournament changed nothing, what's the major difference with this one....?
