Salt on soil may have cured it in the short term, but wouldn't have been much good for the surface and grass long term! I was more pissed off than most (maybe not Watford fans) as I have a 3 hour round trip to matches, plus i'd spent 15 quid on chocolate and drinks about 5 mins before it was called off, but time being the healer it is my initial anger and assessment of the club as tinpot has reduced (a bit) and I can see why it was called off, even if too late
It all makes you wonder why they didn’t put some sort of de-icing system into the pitch surrounds when first designed and laid. It would certainly save future postponements, or maybe just bring in loads of hay like they used to do.
That makes too much sense and doesn't fit into the DNA of the club. Perhaps they'll employ a deicing consultant with years of experience in dealing with adverse weather conditions never seen before in this country.
We’re operating under a transfer fee restriction. I’m sure any punishment would be a slap on the wrist in comparison.

Honestly who do you lot think you are? It’s the ****ing championship any team can win on the day and nothing is guaranteed. A collusion when our owner flew in his jet especially for the game to *checks notes* avoid playing a game of football against erm Watford… **** off you absolute muppet.
Whoever is feeding Baz and Hoggarth this line of "it was a joint decision" and "all parties agreed" (presumably someone at the club) is doing no one any favours. It makes no sense, seemingly contradicts the EFL rulebook and fuels the Watford conspiracy theorists.
To me there were two clear issues on the day: why was the pitch surrounding area unplayable when it's never been an issue before and the conditions were not particularly extreme; and why was the decision made so late in the day. It was really poor on both fronts. But now there is the third issue that City are putting out unconvincing and confusing messages which clear nothing up and add fuel to the fire.

PL as in premier league…..I hate to go all Australian on this, but we operate under EFL rules not PL
#410 touches on the same point but the safety of supporters inside of near the ground isn't/wasn't the issue.
I did read somewhere last night that the referee passed the 'playing surface' but after that there was some debate over the run-up areas and that had come from Hull City's safety officer?
Whether or not there's any truth in that is debatable but the question needs to be asked as to why there was frost/ice anywhere near that pitch.Someone needs their backside kicked for that!!!
I’m pretty sure Watford pressed for the game to be postponed as late in the day as possible. It was their cry for help to the wider football community to show how insufferable, soft in the head & weak their own fans are. They can’t cope with them any longer.
Now we’ve all witnessed it everyone can laugh at them together. Even Sir Elton was heard giving a rendition of “Don’t go Breaking the Ice”
