I went and looked behind the dugouts before leaving, Acun looked to be furious when I had a peek at the owners box. I don't think we did it intentionally, but how on earth could the club not have cleared this little bit of ice, in the space of 5 hours or whatever??? (stole the pic off twitter)

we were sat in the West stand, we could see clearly the players leaving the pitch early from the warm up and the Watford players heading over to the away fans. This was just after 2.35pm.

So clearly the decision to call off the game had been taken, but it took up until 2.50 pm for the stadium announcement to be made.

Did they delay the announcement to get revenue in from the food and drink sales I wonder? Bit of a conspiracy theory I know but there would have been a lot of wastage.

It is 100% because if they are dropped or roll between seats they can become a dangerous hazard with the lid on. Trust me I was sent the DCMS email all clubs in all sports received at the time. It's OK for you not to be right about something for once ffs.

I didn’t type any of that post, I just copied it from the Football Supporters Federation article complaining about this recommendation being issued to football clubs in the summer of 2022.

They got pint hot chocolate and Yorkie out of me...

Also looked like the Acun enterage was in full force at Bottanic when we walked by before the 'not game'...

Some of my mates sit in the South and said that as they were leaving, people (who obviously never knew or heard) were still buying food and drink as others were trudging out of the Stadium.

It's a complete embarrassment, absolutely noway a game should be cancelled this close to KO. If the playing surface is ok, which it is. Then the game should go ahahead.
Agree it's poor, not sure why the ref couldn't delay the kick off by 30 mins to give them time to sort it, but given what happened at Withernsea the other night I guess we should just be thankful for what we have and take this one on the chin as a crap day.

Events like that really put things into perspective for me, haven't stopped thinking about how frightened that poor girl must have been and how her mum must have felt. Gut wrenching.

Today's farce just pales into insignificance for me to be honest.

Perhaps they were just hungry and decided to eat before they left? If it had been possible to organise it would have been nice if the club had handed out whatever food was ready (and would be wasted) to the Watford fans for their journey back home. The Acklams and Sweynes (Goole) bus drivers had gone off for a wander so we had to hang around waiting for them to return.

Today reminds me of the game against Blackburn a few years ago when it was postponed last minute as well.
