Mansfield 2 up against bradford at half time. A wind for us would start to create some daylight to 3rd.

Udders 1 up at lincoln.

A point for us would be good, but a win would be huge.
I'm reasonably happy with a draw here as it means both teams dropped maximum points as they are both in the chasing pack.
Ok... we should have won today, albeit against a team with reasonable home form but I think most of the top 8 will be more disappointed than us on reflection

We're now exactly half way through our fixtures for this season and we've amassed 48 points with 23 games still to go.

Last season we finished and went down with a total of 44 points after the 46 games - that's some improvement.

Different division I know and the opposition is different, but it's not just the points on the board so far. It's the brand of football we're playing in getting them. It's become a joy to go to the CCS rather than something of a chore expecting the worse.

The way they're knocking the ball around, one touch passes, movement off the ball, players in space, its a world of difference. The exciting thing is they arent the finished article. Still more to come.
Improve the finishing and we'll be a real handfull for teams.
Should we go up, this season together and another signing or two and you could see us comfortably mid-table in the championship.

Still a long way to go. Thinking on about yesterday’s game maybe it’s just me but again we’re not turning dominance into 2-3 goal margins and switch off with clumsy and careless errors leading to conceding. The Sky pundit had it right saying teams at the top should not be letting leads slip and pointed out our lack of quality in the final third. I’d add a lack of ruthlessness.

I'm mostly in agreement with this post but I have a problem with the 'Real Madrid' mentality of the players sometimes during the games, like when they try a flick or a back heel in our own defensive third when we are only a goal ahead or 0-0.
I love confidence in a player and I know they are still kids with a bright future mostly, but confidence and recklessness have to be separated. Lawlor is starting to have a bit of form for a lazy pass and having to recover possession occasionally. I want the team to be showmen and to entertain the crowd but maybe just do it when we have a comfortable lead.
kind regards

Nathan Trott conceding regularly now, when he started he was unbeatable somewhat. Is he getting a bit like “slack Alice?”
I think we had a 'better defence' in those early games, in that Bagan, Fish, Lawlor and Kapakio were pretty much consistently named. Since September we have seen rotation of players particularly in the Fish/Lawlor/Osho/Chambers central combo and this has led to the increased goals conceded. On the other hand we are seeing more goals in our favour at the other end of the pitch. However in BBM we trust and we are having a good time :)
