thought it would be interesting to see which teams you hate/dislike if hate is too strong

This can be because of some experience involving Saints or because someone you know is a fan of a club and does your head in or any reason really

Was discussing it with a group of mates in the pub and obviously the usual suspects came up (Utd, Liverpool and Spurs being comfortably the most popular teams to hate) The actual answer we agreed is whoever the team you support is. No other team will have ****ed you off/disappointed/caused more hurt than the team you support

So yeah who do you hate the most, apart from Saints who should be everyone’s number one by miles

Apart from the Skates obviously.

Dirty Leeds because I hated the early 70s team for being cynical and nasty bastards and their scummy fans attacking women and kids in the 1979 League Cup semi-final at The Dell.

I disliked Arse irrationally because Bob Wilson looked like a chicken! plus I was attacked by a group of their fans in the late 70s.
The Scousers I disliked in the 70s and 80s simply because it was boring for them to be so dominant and more recently for them stealing our best players.
Spuds I liked in the 70s because my favourite non Saints player was Martin Peters but I started disliking them when they nicked Glenda and Dean Richards and later Poch.
Manure because of Fergie success and their fans being insufferable twats.

I think this thread has come up a few times. In my opinion, the dislike for a club is not consistent but changes with a club's changing fortunes.

I have never liked Arsenal yet found this team under Wenger insufferable. This was exacerbated by the fact that I frequently visited France during his tenure and disliked how popular Arsenal were in the Hexagon at that time. I really hated the bespectacled knob who ran one of the Arsenal fan sites.

I have never liked Liverpool and find them insufferable. It pleases me whenever their fortunes wain or if they get humiliated by Man Utd. Just feel they are the one English team due their comeuppance and even more so than Man Utd. Other than that, i have to say I have never liked Spurs who I feel have a fan base that is seriously deluded over their reputation. The affinity towards Israel also makes Spurs a team I really dislike.

As far as Portsmouth are concerned, I see them as bitter rivals yet also have respect for them. Some of their fans are horrible and have a dreadful degree of misunderstanding. Despite this, for me they are not a team I could dismiss. There is so much heritage with Portsmouth and I do feel that they have a bigger and more passionate fan base. Having worked for a long while in the PO postcode area, I feel Saints fans seriously under-rate Portsmouth whilst , at the same time, few clubs have underperformed quite like Portsmouth over the last 50 years. Having seen what Portsmouth achieved under Redknapp, I am wary of what they could do if they got their act together. They are not irrelevant and would be bigger than Saints if they had more capable owners and a stadium that belonged to 21st century and not 19th. Not convinced they will ever fulfil their potential yet am conscious that a 'rectified 'Portsmouth would have the potential to dwarf Southampton. Just don't see it happening in the short term but I think the threat is there is they ever got their act together. In summary, I enjoy reading about their misfortunes whilst conscious that the potential is there to be the south's biggest club.

Not sure about the dislike for Bournemouth. I am always glad to see them do well unless playing Saints.

Whatever happened to the hatred towards Luton Town ? They were always the villains in the 1980s. Just think that Saints fans are more inclined to dislike former manager or players as opposed to clubs these days. Different in the times of plastic pitches !

I never used to hate them until their fans antics last season, now I hate them with a passion.

Oh and Newcastle. Cheating, entitled ****s

It's a big reason for my hatred.

Plus:

Arrogant, entitled, arsehole fans generally (added to that specific incident)
Vardy
Brendan
Cheating
Vardy
Brendan
That result
Vardy.

'Kin hell...

Newcastle - Because they're owned by literal murderers and are a sports washing vehicle for the Saudi state
Man £ity - because they're another sportswashing vehicle and just throw money everywhere
West Ham - because they supported a cat-abusing piece of ****

Other than the obvious..

Everton's behaviour during the Koeman saga really left an impression on me, an absolutely **** one. All of the arrogance of their neighbours, with none of the quality to back it up. Never seen anything like their pathetic humblebrag forum raiding from any other set of supporters.

Liverpool, fans are just an absolute bunch of tossers. Holier than thou attitude, yet they singlehandedly damaged English club football in a way no one else ever has. Loads of talk of YNWA, yet very quick to get ****ty with players who want to leave and those they don't percieve as good enough. I know everyone else does, but they like to pretend they are different. Also Anfield has the most overhyped atmosphere in English football, they do one loud round of YNWA before kick off and thats it.

Iffy on Newcastle as well, although I think their passion for football is undeniable and have to respect the numbers they travel in. Still have a significant victim complex from the pre Saudi days, but with the arrogance of a 'big five' club (**** off Spurs, you aren't part of that either). I also don't really expect major moral fortitude from the average football fan, but they were all a bit too gleeful about being taken over by an actual murderer.

Leeds - Fans are just a weirdly antagonistic and aggressive bunch.
