Great thread as always RTB thank you. Difficult one to call this as Brighton are good at home but not in the best of form. It's important that xhaka stays clear of yellow card again as midfield depleted already. Only 3 more games Granit you can do it. The back 4 or 5 is still excellent and I would give brobbey a start up top with Wilson out wide. I'd be happy with a point and no yellow for Granit.
Haway the lads.

We can’t expect to get through a season without injuries, suspensions or individual players having blips in form. on the other had we have a very good squad with some players having missed out so far.

I’m certain the club have meticulously prepared for this current situation and the likes of Rigg, Cirkin, Mayenda will be primed and ready to go. Mundle has come back to full fitness at just the right time.

I’m actually looking forward to seeing these changes and who knows who’ll struggle to regain their place when they come home uninjured and fully fit. We’ll somehow have to learn to play with Diarra, in the side, at which point I think we’ll become more expansive and see more goals.

In the meantime I’ll be happy to see more games like the derby where we play compactly and professionally. It’s clear that teams are finding us very difficult to play against and Brighton know they're in for a very tough game.

I can see this being another 1-0 and think it’s time for another ‘Isidor off the wing’ winner …

… Ha’way the Lads!!!

Completely agree. He's a really talented player, some forget he was our most expensive signing in the crazy summer window. We've got to where we are at the minute largely without him...think what we can do with him fully fit! I've no idea what the agreement is that we have with Senegal.
I'm hoping he comes on at Brighton, and takes a minor knock, forcing him to withdraw from the AFCON.....excellent recovery and then available for Leeds and onwards. In my humble opinion,he could be a game changer in our attacking play.

I think Sunderland are handling these internationals very carefully and allowing players the choice to play for their country without any pressure. It's only by being a good accomodating club that we'll attract the likes of Xhaka, Diarra, Sadiki, etc in the first place. Of course we want SAFC to come first but their main loyalty is likely to be their country.

The compensation is that we'll be represented by top players, have the good word spread around Africa and hopefully attract more good signings ...

... we'll also be able to watch Sunderland players in a major competition.

I remember the days when watching one of our lot, getting on for Northern Ireland for ten minutes, was a massive deal <laugh>
