Midfielder Habib Diarra has been named in Senegal’s squad and will link up with his national team once he completes his rehabilitation at the Academy of Light. The 21-year-old has been sidelined since September and is currently concluding his recovery before travelling to AFCON.
Sunderland will be represented across the continent by players competing for Morocco, DR Congo, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, and Senegal, with all six players unavailable for selection in the Premier League while on international duty.
