Especially after Xhaka said we wouldn't do it at an away ground in the post match interview, in a kind of thinly veiled "were not like those clowns" message. We done it to prove a point, I said to the mags at work it would come back to bite them in the arse...and it has.

We won't drop to their levels.

In a nutshell he was saying it was 'tinpot and lacking respect' when Newcastle did it.

They did it against a shambles of a newly promoted L1 side and Mick Beale, as if they'd won the FA Cup ...

... we did it against a CL side, League Cup holders and the richest club in the world.

Yet they'll find a way to excuse their behaviour and criticise ours.

Already have. Apparently it was our cup final and they've got more important games to concentrate on - strange that!

I don't watch them a lot but someone on here was saying they are just strong lads, who run about and bulky the opposition but in reality are a bit ****! Was it @Smug in Boots ?

This is what he is saying here and I guess he watches them every match!

Hoepfully a few teams suss them out!

Anoyone else noticing there seems to be an inordinate amount of people who think we’ll get hammered at SJP, or have loads to say on the own goal as a dig at Sunderland, then suddenly say “ha, I don’t support Newcastle “ when called out on it?

It’s embarrassing the amount it’s happening after this game!

That’s pretty much it in my opinion mate.

For every talented player they have there’s another who’s totally one dimensional. Gordon has real pace, and a trick, but sulks like a spoiled teenager as you saw when he didn’t receive the right pass from Woltemade. Joelinton has an aggressive attitude but seems virtually devoid of creativity, he doesn’t even appear to enjoy playing football.

The same goes for Bruno, Tonali, etc, who seem to grind their way through games and don’t look like they rate their team mates, Elanga seems shunned and must be wondering why he chose Newcastle ... money I expect like Woltemade. It’s all slightly unpleasant and there’s not much swagger or flair, just attritional football with periods of high tempo and aggression.

Woltemade is supposed to be a silky ball playing link man but, in the derby, was played almost exclusively for his height in either box. That didn’t work out the way Howe planned it, he may be a good player but really doesn't suit this team …

… got in the defence’s way and was bossed by our defenders because he lacks a good challenge or the physicality.

And now they’ve lost Big (not so bad) Dan for a couple of months, oops.

Was saying to my son that I love the videos the club put out where the players are all laughing and taking the piss out of each other. It shows great bonding off the pitch which shines through on the pitch as they work as a team not individuals.

The club say they work really hard on signing the right type of player personality and attitude wise aswell as skill etc... and it has really showed over the last few years!

Spent most of yesterday just reading and watching all the videos and comments with a huge grin on my face.

The club nailed everything and the players, well ive ran out of words to describe them.

At one point in the second half I was just in awe of how good Xhaka is, he seemed to be 5 seconds ahead of everyone, just knew where to be and what was going to happen.

Our defensive shape is so good, the players are so in tune with their roles as a team that i find it beautiful to watch, I appreciate it might not be super sexy attacking football but to me its a just as impressive.

What a day. Town was buzzing all night. Wow was I rough yesterday. Hope you all enjoyed that, the geordies tears and excuses are a sight to behold.

Also, I may sit in the Roker end but how ****E were their fans? Unless I just couldn’t hear them from the end other of the stadium. Seems they got the takeover they wanted and a new era of corporate fanbase along with it.

That's more or less true. They have been bullying teams , using Linton especially, and get very favourable treatment from refs.

The team is fit and athletic, but with very little guile at all.

On Sunday, they ran up against a team that you can't bully, and they were lost.

Howe for England? I really hope they are joking.

I'm pretty sure they are an unhappy bunch of campers. Well over £600m and they have that to show for it.

But no complaints are allowed, they are all in as Saudis now. Bin Salman must be humoured.
