And just like clockwork,
Just had a thought, would anyone swap Bally or Catts for one of our current players for Sunday?
No mate, needs cool heads and in xhaka and sadiki we have that in spades.

As much as I love Bally and to an extent Catts, our 2 midfielders are so important, dictate the tempo, demand perfection and wont give an inch.

Saying that id pay good money to see Bally in his prime against Bruno, he be crying on the pitch after 5 minutes when Bally snapped him

Been a bit odd at work this week.
I work in Newcastle (Elswick), and not one person has mentioned the match on Sunday.
They all know im Sunderland, but there's been nothing said...all week!!

I genuinely think they're worried, they dont want to say owt in case they have egg on their faces on Monday.

The banter we used to have has gone.

Absolutely not, no offence but there's no comparison.

Not a problem. I just re-watched the Sunderland video of them both and it was just a throw away thought.

TBH, I think you could be right, the game has moved on so much these days since they both played. Any kind of dirty look from either of them would probably get them booked!

Its all got too serious from them, they are obsessed with being Geordies. Its consumed them.

Sold their soul to a nation just to compete and lost their identity, so they over compensate

That's all very true mate, they've become charicatures of the puppets they've turned into.

They've overdone the 'Geordie Nation' and richest club in the world stuff so much they've lost their actual identity.

We're just a bunch of enthusiatic football supporters who cheer our team on ...

... a decent club gradually becoming people's 'second team' <laugh>

I've been to a light trail thing in Newcastle tonight. At one point we were given a ribbon and you had to write three words that sum up your hopes for the future. Can you tell which is mine? My daughter's is underneath.

You picked 3 better words than I would have when commenting on the mags! <laugh>

I guess my stance comes from a) how I see them as a club (owned and run by a murderous regime and have very little to do with the North East anymore) and b) I don't have any mags in my life anymore - I don't work in the region, I'm cut off from my in-laws and the mag elements in my family (nowt to do with football, just one of those things) so if the worst happened and we lost, I'd just turn off social media for a couple of days then move on with the rest of my life.

I remember standing, looking out at the pitch before the Coventry game and feeling nervous. Then I reminded myself that these occasions are why we love football and they are to be embraced and cherished. Whatever happens on Sunday, it's a ****ing long way away from losing 1-3 at home to Lincoln, or watching Coleman's team fart their way into the 3rd tier.
I’m surrounded by mags. Just had a beer with one. He knows it’s a tricky game. Reckons our keeper beating their press with his distribution may be a factor and our pace on the break another.
