Disagree, we sat back. We always sit back, we dont even vary it. If going to sit back then tell one of Gordon or Elanga to sit high up in our own half. If we get the ball, play is down to the channels and let them try and win a footrace. We dont do that its everyone behind the ball and the pressure builds and goal in the 90+ minute again. Same ****, different week!
Hang on Roy, you’re saying that if I and others just give up on a League position qualification for Europe, the club will somehow be freed of the shackles of my expectations and will finally be at liberty to do something they were fearful of doing up till now? Am I that much of a bad influence?!!If VAR didn't give us a soft pen we'd have lost. Take the point gratefully I guess.
Europe? Forget it... Every week it's becoming clearer...the sooner people accept it the sooner the club can resolve things.

I don’t get depressed or angry about this … we’re in a transitional season. We’ve bought a duffer in Elanga for this year, might come good in time (a lot of time), might not. But Thiaw, Woltemade, our two young full backs, our midfield choices, our Barnes/Gordon riches… Miley looking ever-more at home, Wissa not going to Afcon… it’s not all bad news.
It’s football. Our progress will be evolutionary due to PSR, we’ve a very good man-manager. We’re where we can expect to be.
January and the summer will see more departures as players with relatively short working lives look to maximise their promotions, cups and earnings - other players will come in and we’ll love them even more… until we have to hate some of them.
Being NUFC is never easy. But it’s always worth it.
Everton and Spurs were ****e we will be a different kettle to fish on Dec 14th you cannot do what Bournemouth do up front let alone Arsenal lol bring it on !

It's an OK point if we win vs Burnley and Sunderland, so there's no need for overreacting to one game, but there's a few things I've noticed, that are a concern.
The side used to pick itself and some of the ins and outs aren't improvements. Eddie Howe is doing too much I think, he's over thinking everything maybe! He's now got options and that means there's more he can get wrong, so he does.
The managers in game management was always an issue in the eyes of many and the squad rotation is an extension of that.
Newcastle are a particularly brainless side and it's either the managers instructions telling them when to go and when to sit, or there's a player doing it on the pitch...it's something that Newcastle aren't good at doing, but it appears they will never stop doing it.
Newcastle are absolutely dreaful at corners and set pieces, we had some success vs Everton, because Miley took them, but Howe went back to Hall until about 30 mins Yesterday.
Dan Burn was once again caught for the 1st goal, he got done a few times, got caught in areas he should be, and I've lost count how many time this has happened over over the last 2 years, but that will be ignored and everyone will argue about Pope and Ramsdale as if there's only 1 issue in the team, not 2, 3, or more.
Eddie Howe seems to be trying to prove points at the moment. When something works that wasn't his original idea, he simply ignores it, and reverts back to type at the first opportunity.
Pope, Ramsdale, Burn, Schar, Murphy, .. These players are not good enough and every week they make up 20 to 30% of the 11 before and after changes... This is a big part of the the problem imo... This high level the margins are small and we're handing back any advantage with the use of these guys a bit too much.. Not saying they're awful but they needed upgrading years ago.
It's like when villa were spending loads and still messing about with dendonker and Co... Emery washed the club rid of the sub grade players almost immediately.
We dominated, should have scored more, Spurs weren't all that, we just needed to put some more of those endless shots we had away. Didn't sit back, just finishing wasn't good enough and we should have put the game to bed earlier. In the end a one goal lead is always fragile and we let in a horrible goal at the end that should have been easily cleared.
We move on. Thankfully we have Burnley next, we gotta win that.
I think the questioned of sitting back should be more directed at City, who nearly let a 5-1 lead slip last night lol
Agreed but Burnley will come with a low block and we all know NUFC are **** against low blocks.......
