Oh no, not Judgie... 62 is no age. One of my heroes and nobody hit a square drive harder. Sheer brilliance here with what was a record ODI score for England at the time... R.I.P Robin...
Dreadful news. He was my favourite player as a kid. I absolutely loved watching him and remember buying my first bat from Holt & Haskell when he was involved. They had one of his signed bats on display and I remember thinking it was enormous. In my mind the handle was as thick as my arm.
Such a sad loss, one of my favourite players for both Hampshire and England. Scored an incredible 26,151 first class runs in his 22 years at Hampshire. RIP Judge
Very sad news. Brilliant batsman for Hampshire and England. Loved watching him or his brother Chris winning the match for us in those big one day matches at the County ground back in the day
My feelings exactly. I took my Dad to his only match at ‘The Rose Bowl’ Hampshire v Australia, July 2001. Robin came to crease and then we watched 113 runs, quite a day!! So sad to see such a player pass away at just 62.
Sounds mildly ridiculous, but I’ve spent the last three days with Brett Lee in Dubai. He’s flying out tonight to commentate on the Ashes games, but was with Judge last week. It’s a very upsetting story all round. RIP Robin. (On a lighter note, Brett has said next time I’m out he’s challenging me to a game of cricket with a taped up tennis ball. Sod that).
