still a big game when we play them, when they're in the same division as us, it's 1 of the 1st fixtures i look for. it would be good for the region as a whole if we had 3 teams in the prem, i for 1 hope mowbray turns them round next season, if they manage to stay up this term

Agent Bruce, oops, I mean Steve Bruce is never quiet!

Always bellyaching about something or other. This isn't fair, that isn't fair, it isn't his fault, blah blah blah.

But they are a progressive club with a great manager. We have a joke chairman and some crappy manager !!!
Cannot believe we are only 1 point behind such a fine team full of classy players..........

I don't know why you think the bottom teams are going to scrap at the death. They have been ****e all season. Why should it change now? We didn't when we went down without a wimper.

There is still a chance that we could both finish out of the top 10...

I'm still satisfied that we're currently in a position to finish the season without being dragged into a relegation battle.

I said at the start I'd take 17th and I still stand by that.

I agree with OT. At the start of the season I said that 17th would be good enough for me, and avoiding relegation is obviously still the no.1 priority. After that a top 10 finish would be brilliant.

As for finishing above the unwashed?

It was never really a priority but it would be very funny if we did after all the arrogant bollocks that have come out of the stadium of ****e this year.

Never did get to hear Bruce's song.

I wouldn't be very happy with 17th. We have a starting 11 full of EPL quality players and higher. Couple that with a good team spirit and an apparently decent manager, and it would be disappointing to slip down the table. If we did, I'd say it would be down to taking our foot off the gas more than anything else. Purely psychological.

We need to finish as high as possible. The way we have been playing this year, and the players we have, league position could be vital to getting the quality of signing's we want/need.

I said 17th at the start of the season, and while i would still be happy with that i don't think we will be able to get a better class of player.

Gervinho has been linked to us, if we finish 8th-ish i think we have a chance of bagging a player like him. 17th and we don't stand a chance.

This isn't me being... The 'D' word. But expectations grow as surroundings change. We were expecting to be in the bottom third (most people were saying we would be over the moon with 14th/15th). Since we are doing better than expected, and i mean point's wise and our general play, i don't think it's wrong to expect more.

I think we are capable of finishing 7th (which will be ahead of the Mackems) and if Arsenal could have won that bleeding cup it may had been enough for Europe. But i don't think we can sneak into that this year. Full of confidence for the next campaign though!:emoticon-0100-smile

The mackems defence at the start of the season was water tight, but now it's a shower of ****. Our next 4 games look more winnable than theirs as they are playing teams above them, so can see us leapfrogging them in the next couple of weeks IF we keep going about games as we have been.

We played good attacking football and if are defence will stop arsing about with the ball and just clear it we may actually start winning games. I think 6th for a European spot may be a bit to much of an ask, but looking at Liverfool!!!! Never say never

Pardon my language but **** being delusional. We can finish high up in the table this year, the facts are there. Anyone who says we're delusional are perhaps delusional themselves. Just look:

Enrique - One of the best defenders in the EPL
Tiote - One of the best defensive midfielders in the EPL
Barton - One of the best midfielders in the EPL

    Quality EPL players in:

    Simpson
    Nolan
    Jonas
    Harper
    Williamson
    Best

    High quality EPL players in:

    Colo
    Ben Arfa
Ireland (if he gets his form back)

Around that you have a fairly decent looking manager who is tactically astute, a great team spirit, lots of passionate fans and one of the best club infrastructures in the UK (stadium, training, physio and so on).

If we don't finish in the top 10 this year, it will either be because some of our star players are injured, or because the players have stopped trying as hard as they were before. That's about it.

Come on now man! I tried to be nice, but you had to mention the 'D' word! Shocking. Canr we get this added to the swearing filter?

I'm 100% with you on this! I think we have a good chance, especially with some teams seemingly having gap year's (Everton, Villa...).

    Howay the toon!!
