Before you all want to release Pandur in a free. We wouldn’t be in this league without him.
And leave us vulnerable to a quick throw with Pandur back tracking. It would have been bonkers.
Or he could have just played it into touch or for a cornerAnd what, back heel it? Pandur had to stay back to receive the pass.
If we did he wouldn't start and he has more than a few mistakes in him from some of the highlights of Donny games I've seen. Can we not recall Lo-Tutala in January?
There is definitely some improvement there from Joseph. There were a couple of deft little lay offs tonight that I haven’t seen from him before, which were worthy of a better player. He’s still very raw but is getting better and is definitely helping us through this spell with so many of our first choice attacking options unavailable through injury. He didn’t though did he , he played a good pass to the wing quickly, have you seen how many balls Joseph loses through poor control when it runs way from him , even when he’s played every week . I like Joseph’s effort and pressing but it’s not enough
Confidence is a huge thing for keepers - it can be easily lost and it's sometimes difficult to rebuild. Pandur has shown all the signs of a player who is very low on confidence. His diffidence when coming off his line has been a problem all season and it was clearly on show again tonight.
Not sure how.. not many decent free keepers around, we're maxed out wage budget wise, cant spend on transfer fee's and only have 1 loan spot available. He'll be fine this season but I do agree we need a better keeper to challenge him next season, maybe someone who can take his place.
Pandur shouldn't have come out or should have cleared it. If he hadn't come out semi could play back to him to switch to Egan or Hughes or punt long.So what are you saying the players should have done in that instance then? Pandur called it wrong and couldn't get there in time, at least without slipping so we saw how that worked out... And you're saying a clearance for a throw in wouldn't have worked (which is wrong), so what do you think they should have done between them?

Pandur can't sit on his line in that instance whether he tries to take charge of the situation or simply act as the plan B. He did try to clear it but he both misjudged it, and slipped. He's at fault for it. Ajayi does have more options though... At the point Pandur removed himself as a passing option he could have put the ball out for a throw in, he could have touched it wide for Pandur to run onto and then clear, he could at the very least have held his ground and got in the way of the attacker, but he just stepped out of the way and left it wide open to run onto. He wasn't aware he had a man closing it down is the crux of the issue, but to be fair to both of them when that ball comes through there's initially no Derby player anywhere near it - which also makes the whole thing a lot worse when you watch it back.
If Ajayi does play it safe and puts it out for a throw in there's no way Derby can take that quickly enough to cause us a direct problem. They took loads of long throws all night and we dealt with them pretty well. It's just one of those unfortunate things that we move on from, but Ajayi putting that out for a throw in isn't bonkers. What happened was definitely more bonkers. It's a combination of poor judgement from Pandur and poor awareness from Ajayi.
