Referring to the other thread about Beckham being knighted, this guy and the Forest fan and possibly others are much more deserving of recognition. Amazing bravery.

I don't know how good a crossbow has to be to cause damage or what they cost. His could have been a second-hand grown-up one maybe?

I still remember Prince Charles getting ridiculed after the Dunblane shooting, he was speaking in opposition to the proposed ban on handguns. He said something like if the baddies can't get hold of a gun they will just find something else to use as a weapon like a (he paused for thought) cricket bat. His point being it's not the item that's dangerous but the person using it.
We can't just keep on banning things and let dangerous people walk the streets.

Conversely, let bad things happen in order to THEN ban things and introduce overreaching legislation.

They should certainly be awarded the George Cross for gallantry at the very least.
