Interesting comment though because I’d say faith communities do more of this from what i see but I’ve read on here some are evil. I agree about helping people. As well as hands on it’s why I think paying fair tax should be seen as patriotic. Without it we have no services. I’ve not hidden that I’m not a fan of Starmer snd McSweeneys Labour, however I love some of their policies - health and this one https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/pride-in-place are my stand outs I think this reflects what you’re saying and I’m told more investment goes into this next year.I might have the wrong end of the stick here. But I will openly say I want to keep out culture, or in reality get what I think it once was. And I dont think it has anything to do with racism personally.
I want a country where folk help each other out. Where if your neighbour needs a favour you do it without being asked. Where kids play safely outdoors because parents can be bothered to keep an eye out. Where family meals were important. Where the pub was the heartbeat of a community.
I want a country the world admires. Admires because we stand up for what is right. Because we are there when those that cant defend themselves need help. Because we are great at building things and everyone works hard and takes pride in a days work.
I want a culture where everyone plays their part. I want mutual respect from everyone to everyone.
In other words I want to go back in time. It is hard to take pride in much anymore. I have tried bloody hard, as a volunteer, to make a difference in my little community. Very few ever thanked those like me, but would whinge if something wasnt perfect. A lot of people now are selfish, in my opinion, and more than a bit lazy. If individuals took just a bit more personal accountability, and tried a bit harder to be good neighbours, the country would take a big leap forward.
Some of the Tory criticisms beggar belief mind with regards to double standardsAs I say, it is the double standards that will be remembered.
Yes. They've fessed up and apologised. Cue the political conspiracy theories now.Do you really believe an Estate agent who probably lets out 100s of properties in that area just happens to forgets to tell Rachel Reeves. I suppose it could be the same one who forgot to tell Raynor she owed £44,000 I suppose.![]()

There are a few saying a lot about a genuine error but little about Farage’s tax and housing manoeuvres. It’s worse than Reeves. Says he’s patriotic and uses clever accountancy to deprive our public services in favour of himself. If this country descends into a Farage lead chaos, those who keep upping the ante will be the first to complain.

Really mate the more i read of what she had done to harm our economy, you would think she is a Chinese spy. Im sure Starmer is on the take from of China, why else does he persist with this green energy bullshyte when even pencil neck Milliped has now said it doesn't work, most say its the biggest con out therelol
Na na na na, Na na na na wave Rachel good bye.
You reap what you sow. Labour took the highest of high moral ground when in oppo. They literally set angelic standards of behaviour as the minimum standards. They are falling badly short of their own stated standards. It would be laughable if they were allowed to just get away with being what they claimed to oppose so vehemently. Some of the Tory criticisms beggar belief mind with regards to double standards

Of course he is. But he wasnt part of the Labour oppo who went on attack after attack over ministerial standards. It appears the old adage of those in glass houses...There are a few saying a lot about a genuine error but little about Farage’s tax and housing manoeuvres. It’s worse than Reeves. Dare I say, the problem we face in our country right now is not how to stop Farage. But it is how to demand better from Labour. They are our elected govt. Have a huge majority and 4 years to make good on what might yet be traditional labour values. Do that and Farage does not win, Labour win. They, and dare I say some on our daft little forum, are too focussed on Farage, when we should be demanding more from Starmer. He is in the driving seat, he needs to start driving a better path and that should be our expectation.
I am not a person of any faith. I grew up in a church going family, but as I got older I grew distant from it. Tried going back when I had my first son, I wanted to feel connected in some way, but it wasnt for me. Nothing against communities of faith at all, I am jealous of folk of faith, but I cant get on with it as I get older. My weakness, nothing else.Interesting comment though because I’d say faith communities do more of this from what i see but I’ve read on here some are evil. I agree about helping people. Agree mate. Not really sure when the drift occurred, but I felt so completely let down by Blair whom I voted for with enthusiasm.Labour long ago drifted away from being a "working class" party I'm afraid, other than in their public rhetoric.
Starmer is a metropolitan liberal who has always looked extraordinarily uncomfortable among normal people. He has never been among such people really, which isn't his fault, but in him this has produced a complete inability to connect.
He won't be there at the next GE, and most likely will be gone far sooner. He is completely unsuited to the job.
I am apolitical, in the sense that I would never ( again!) be a party member. Or vote blindly for any coloured rosette , as if it were a football team.Agree mate. Not really sure when the drift occurred, but I felt so completely let down by Blair whom I voted for with enthusiasm.
Did Farage not call a press conference when Raynor went? I think he didOf course he is. But he wasnt part of the Labour oppo who went on attack after attack over ministerial standards. It appears the old adage of those in glass houses...
