I think N'Diaye is as important to them as as Grealish and Dewsbury Hall. I think if Reinildo and Hume/Nordi can keep the two widemen quiet then we will have too much for them in midfield.
Yeah, Ballard’s timing and touch is really improving. I think we’ll try to keep them wide and hope they keep throwing high balls in for the big lad … … that seems to be their ‘style’ so they shouldn’t take much persuasion.
Great thread again @RTB Ive gone for a home win. But actually feel a little nervous about this one- my memories of Everton visits are not good Nonetheless I have faith in RLB and the lads to chuck in another professional and disciplined display
3 points on Monday and we have 20 points from 10 played! Keep that form up all season and its top 3 at least . All seriousness its madness to see us sitting so high up the table after 10 played, but while its madness its also perfectly understandable if you watch the lads play! They aren't out there getting points by sheer luck! When you are hard to score against you are making your own luck! One or two good chances and you are probably going away with 3 points! Can't wait for Monday!
In my lifetime i have never seen a Sunderland team as good as this pinpoint accurate long passes, team playing for each other, wingers tracking back helping out, We have had a few decent teams over the years, but this one is exceptional, who knows we may even be playing in Europe in my lifetime, now that would be a wonder to behold
I'd be loving this if we were getting lucky, fluking results and having own goals, etc ... ... but it's methodical, clever and skilful. Realistically, and I mean this, there's no logical reason it won't continue.
Personally think we will get better as the season goes on tbh, and possibly have a signing or 2 ligned up for jan.
A good result against Everton and the match with Arsenal could be first v second, in the Premier league! Just think about that for a moment….who could have imagined that when we were playing the likes of Walsall, Gillingham Cheltenham and Shrewsbury just a few years ago?
I keep looking and thinking I can't see any glaring obvious weaknesses or issues that would cause us to completely drop off this form. So can't see any reason why we can't keep on at the top fighting for top 3 even the title! But then I think ffs stop being daft! The part of me that still sees us as the team that struggles etc... And its throughout our support after the years we have seen, even the decade under Short in the premier league was ****e and mostly pain apart froma couple of seasons. Its the reason why we had a post suggesting someone would snap your hands off for a draw with Everton! Thats something thats gone completely for me! **** snapping hands off for a draw with anyone now! This team isn't likely to be afraid of anyone and will give anyone a go! The Chelsea result showed they can beat anyone imo!
This team is much greater than the sum of its parts. And the parts are pretty damn decent too! Cracking time to be a fan. Cautiously optimistic for the Everton game. Firstly we’ve got to win the battle of who wants it more. Then the tactics, skill and spirit can shine through.
I can only speak for myself but, having seen our recent performances, have to say that's a given ... ... no one will leave the SOL having had an easy game, win, lose or draw.
After beating Chelsea with a good performance and then watching how bad they were against Spurs I am pretty confident. Going for 2-0 ( at the minute) with an Isodor standard lashed in with his left foot & a Jordan og late on to secure the points. Cheers RTB
