I dont have an issue with Middlesboro at all. I loved there old ground Ayresome Park alot more than the Riverside is now. Ayresome Park was a bog of a pitch in the winter but great fun. From John Craggs - Grahame Souness - Alan Foggan - John Hickton et al, the Tigers had many a battle with the Boro. The Boothferry 4-3 which was on tv when John Kaye scored 2 was a good game with happy memories. I dont see Middlesboro now as anything other than another team that Hull City need to beat. Afterall its only 3 points.

Indeed, but Newcastle and Sunderland hate each other too much to really care about 'Boro, and Darlo are to them as Grimsby be are to us.

Hence why we should have an intense rivalry with the smoggie bastards.

They're close to been back in league football again, which will be good for the city as the fan base is of league football. Nice supporters as well, bit of banter with the landlord at the pub close by who is a big York fan and is aware of my hull supporting background (we're united in not been big fans of Leeds!)

Leeds at home last season seemed a rivalry affair anyway, crowd was going for it, it was fiery on the pitch and all that. If we keep meeting them over the next few seasons that may well progress the rivalry a bit further. Sadly most the Leeds lot are too delusional to accept who they really are and still live 30 years in the past... have they even discovered flat screen tellys there yet? Suprised some of them have even found the internet!

Can't we just make our disgust at Hull Whites be heard, infact Hull Man Utd and Liverpool fans as well, rather than making ficticious rivalries up. These actually stick their noses in and talk ****e about City.

I've got nowt against the Smoggies.

To be honest I'm quite glad we don't have a clear rival. Some boards where there are two rival sets of supporters end up being one endless childish argument.
But I suppose our traditional rival is Sheffield United. I remember they were always the main 'enemy' in the 80s.

Yeah, Leicester and Hull are much more developed places than Leeds. <laugh>

I think you're right that the games have more passion in them than the average league fixture. I'd say Hull's probably my sixth favourite White Rose Derby after Bradford, Sheff U, Huddersfield, Sheff W and Boro (if you count them as Yorkshire). More fun than Donny and Barnsley, but it's hard to find anything offensive about HCFC and I like to see you doing well when you're not playing United. Certainly doesn't feel like a game against those filthy Mancs or even Bradford when we faced them in the League Cup this season.
