Forgetting about our summer signings for a moment, how proud should we be of the likes of Hume, Ballard, Isidor etc in how they are stepping up? Ballard to me looked like an unclimable mountain in the playoffs and doesn't look like anyone is getting over him this season either. Hume does not look out of place and let's be honest some very good wingers are not beating him and then Isidor just keeps on scoring and looking threatening

The whole club came across as lacking class today.

I'd be ashamed if Sunderland cheated as much as they did ...

... and their support really was dreadful for a club in their position.

They have never shown much class mind.

Always an awful lot, made a lot worse by the entitlement brought on by the dodgy Russian money. Now they are just a weird club, more interested in player trading than building a team.

They should sell half a dozen of their £30m players and go and find a Xhaka. They can't have ours, but someone like him would show them how a team operates.

The best thing about all this is that we aren't playing out of our skin to get these results, this is just how good we are now. Not necessarily second in the league good but capable of beating anyone and consistently picking up points.

Even if we were performing heroics every week it'd still be mighty impressive but our lads are just performing at their natural level as is Régis. If anything you'd expect us to improve, young squad still getting to know each other. Best time to be a Sunderland fan in a long, long time.

I've thought myself that we look like we have a few more gears.

And there will be Rigg, and Eli and maybe Mundle, possibly others all to announce themselves to this league. A league who didn't know we were coming.

A lot gets said, a bit flippantly often about a "brand new team". But last week 50% of our outfield starting line up were here last season, plus two of the subs.

Let's not tell the talking heads eh?!
