That robbery the other week,....well they just broke into the Louvre again , and put the premier league table up on the wall !!!!

Haway the Lads...

Canny result , can't fault any of them , not going to single anyone out.

Another 6 wins and a few draws from the remaining games and that could well be enough. Why should we stop now ? This ain't luck , we've got the makings of a team here. Never thought this in a million years.
Yeah we have the makings of a great team

The best thing about all this is that we aren't playing out of our skin to get these results, this is just how good we are now. Not necessarily second in the league good but capable of beating anyone and consistently picking up points.

Even if we were performing heroics every week it'd still be mighty impressive but our lads are just performing at their natural level as is Régis. If anything you'd expect us to improve, young squad still getting to know each other. Best time to be a Sunderland fan in a long, long time.

Xhaka is our best ever.
I’m going to get a bit geeky here.
My favourite ever game was something called XCOM enemy unknown.
It was a strategy game which you built up players who ended up being unstoppable. You would quit and reload games rather than lose certain players and i had a player that could single handedly win very complex games. Xhaka is that player for me

Was watching the match on Premier League 1 and with them showing all Chelsea's attributes I was starting to get butterflies before the game and when they went and scored after 3 minutes I thought the worst bit I should've known better!

Xhaka calmed them down, got them playing football again, the 3 at the back stood tall, Hume and especially Reinildo took care of their wide been and we got back into the game with Wilson. 2nd half we came out of the blocks and took the game to Chelsea and although as it wore on, Chelsea had more of the ball but did nothing of real note with it. And then right at the end Brobbey showed why we went and got him and laid a perfect ball for Talbi to score.

Just when you start to get used to what this team can do, they go up another notch!
It just makes me smile reading all these comments.

Brobbey has a decent amount of assists in his stats and I can see why. Brilliant play and so pleased for him and Talbi. And the whole team, and us!

What can I say? I was at work today, so couldn't watch any of it and just follow the updated on the BBC. Even on that, we were always in the game and despite going a goal down so early I felt we'd get something out of the game. Without watching the game, it felt like at times we were under pressure but not hanging on and always capable of hurting them. A deserved equaliser and a similar pattern for the rest of the game. I'd have settled for a point beforehand and even as the game wore on i'd have taken it. Chelsea are a top team, probable third or fourth title contenders after Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool. Getting anything from there is a big achievement, they might be a bit inconsistent but that's been a lot to do with discipline and losing players to red cards. Getting that win, as late as the goal came, shows we can compete with anyone, we won't give up and wilt and will keep on to the end. This wasn't a win because of Chelsea's ill discipline giving us a chance, or a backs to the wall smash and grab, this was a controlled performance. We can put this kind of performance in against anyone and give them a game, some pundits and other fans can dismiss us as "lucky" and underestimate us, but we definitely deserve to be where we are right now and maybe now we'll start getting credit and more notice.

Ha'way the lads!

KLD please please do all you can to keep hold of RLB never mind how the rest of the season pans out....the man is a quiet, unassuming genius.

PS I'm supposed to be recording my Blood Pressure readings for a week...how the -uck am I going to get a true reading tonight as I'm still on the ceiling.

What a club and what a time to be a lads fan....incredible. HTL.

Post of the thread for me mate.

This was a performance Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal would've claimed defined their season.

The manager kept his nerve when we conceded, persevered with his starting eleven and went for the win when it suited him.

People turned their noses up at Talbi, Brobbey and Traore but RLB surely deserves our trust from now.

Whatever team he picks for the derby should just be accepted without a second thought imo.

Wow! What a game! What a result! My stream was playing up again and couldn’t find a decent one! Thanks to @David Moyes' Stupid Face for throwing that link up on page 11 - it worked a treat! Now having a celebratory pint in the hot tub!!<cheers> Took the dog out immediately after the game and Mrs RLB was absolutely buzzing! She went wide eyed when I showed her the league table!! :1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down:
