I don't want to join a pile on, but hot damn, he's been poor so far hasn't he?

Genuinely like going down to 10 men When he comes on.

It honestly looked like he hadn't played professional football before when he came on yesterday.

He looked slightly better than his last performance (which says it all really) but still looks absolutely miles off the required standard.

Lacks a lot of the basics needed to play as a CF in this league.

We don't really have much choice but to stick with him now though if Still wants to persist with a big man up top? Which is a bit worrying.

I’d rather play with Armstrong through the middle. If we’re doing that then 4 at the back and an extra attacking player. Something like

    McCarty
    Mads Edwards wood/squashy manning
    Jander Charles
    Fellows scienze Fraser
    Armstrong

Please no. He's arguably our best attacker so why put him in a position where he's far less effective.

Yep. We've already shot ourselves in one foot by needing to rely so much on a guy with a dreadful injury record. I'm not sure that the answer to that is to shoot ourselves in the other foot by moving our other main goalscorer into a far less effective position. That would seem to compound the problem to me!

Maybe Still can use some of his alleged tactical nouse and play a system that doesn’t require some ****e lump up front?

Archer would score a lot in this league if we played in a way that actually suited him

That would be good. We were told by some people on here that after the Pompey game that Still didn't want to lump balls up to Archer (which seemed an odd defence of Still, given that's exactly what we were doing). But since that game, we've barely seen Archer on the pitch. Rather than play a system which does suit him, we've taken him out of the system instead. So I wouldn't be too confident that we will play a style which does suit him.

The moderators may not be to everyone's liking but in their defence they are responsible for the content of this site. If we are all adults, I think we are capable of avoiding personal insults without any foundation. Maybe you would like to become a moderator, Oz?

I don’t think it helps when a moderator rises to the bait and has to have the last word.

He’s a melt, he won’t discipline anyone for abusing me. Then bans me so I can’t respond to people.

    Embarrassing behaviour.

I posted about football, received a barrel of insults. Yet somehow I’m the one being muted. Lol

Do we not have a young centre forward in the youth team to try, like we did in the old days (Danny Wallace making a debut at 16 at Old Trafford), failing that play a lump of CB at CF. Has worked well for teams in the past when desperate e.g. Matt Elliott, Paul Warhurst, great at holding the ball up and real physical presence

Back to Downs! What are his strengths and what weaknesses should he work on? And if Downs is not up to it, who in the squad should replace him?

Ok push scienza up top, he’s got a shot on him. Bring Armstrong back to the wing. Playing downs is just a waste of a shirt and archer hasn’t done much

Exhibitionism and Okeydokey are the obvious two, but not sure that’s the answer.
