I must have watched a different match. It was really comfortable for Man Utd. They ripped us apart in the first half and then took their foot off the pedal in the second half.

In fairness, some of their fans have said that’s possibly the best they’ve seen them under Amorim in that first half. We couldn’t get near them.

I do worry about our wide areas. Adingra looks very raw and not ready to be a starting in the Prem yet.
Talbi has excellent work rate, help out defensively really well but again im not sure he's ready. He missed a sitter today, chances like that need to be buried. Im hoping Mundle can step up, but its an area we need sorting in Jan on both sides.
60 PL appearances in the last 2 seasons. He’s more ready than most we’ve got.

Was a bit of a sobering result yesterday, but there were also some positives to take from the game.
I don’t think our initial set up was right and RLB intimated as much after the game, however he did react to it but unfortunately the damage was done.
Thought the ref was fairly poor and got quite a few decisions wrong.
I did not think the penalty shouts were penalties but he second one was more of a shout than the first. The one which did annoy me was when Shaw pulls Wilson to the floor and VAR did not review, then spent 3 or 4 minutes reviewing a high boot call that pretty much everybody knew was not a penalty.

I disagree. Suppose it’s the definition of the word “ready”. Ready for the prem? Yeah probably. Ready for Sunderland, maybe not!

Having watched him, he looks miles off it. I know there is a player in there, I just haven’t seen it in red and white yet. Yesterday he was more interested in “him” than “us” imo. Looked to beat men when he was doubled up on instead of laying it off. I don’t mind that, but when you fail at it a few times, try something else.

Also Didn’t help Masuaku, who, whilst he looked absolutely woeful first 30, he
Ookevok once Ballard came on and he had support.

Not going to be given, vs not a foul. Sesko only played Hume. With his knee. Anywhere else on the field that’s a foul. Why is it not in the box?

I also guarantee that ‘f that’s given on field. (As it was today), it’s left alone by VAR for Utd, Liverpoool, city Mags etc against us.

athe one by Fernandez was absolutely a foul. And probably a red card for a Bruno for DIGSO. Yet our player takes a yellow!

Im sure Talbi is ready, he looks a top player. Adingra needs a rocket up his arse same as Traore as they dont work enough out of possession.

Mundle could be huge for us in the coming months.
Is Mundle back soon?

Down the left the problem was with Adingra not Masuaka our left back was over worked leaving Diallo so much space because Adingra was not tracking back the proof was when Le Bris hauled him off.
Yep ! Adingra was being tracked by both a defender and the wingback (Amad) and Amad only had Big Arthur

I suspect RLB had gone bold and wanted to get at them where they were weakest but it just didn’t work and they overran us.

The fact there are comments about small margins making the difference show how we are competing.

We never looked to be hanging on, just weren't clinical enough

It was a lesson in the first half hour, the fact that Reg spotted this, changed it and brought us back into the game was massively positive, we could have gone the other way and had a pasting.

If there’s a concern it’s the lack of goals, but we spotted that was going to be an issue early. If Dan scores that header, and is back big Dan to bury that 9 out of 10 times, the second half is different game.

Traore was really busy and direct, needs to do more tracking back. there’s a balance to be found going forward that hasn’t quite clicked and that is all we really need to get right.

With the Dan and Talbi chances we should have had 2 though so individual misses can happen, and again we need to look at that positive aspect.

Their second goal wasn’t like us too many lads got sucked to ball but overall it’s another performance with no major shame or concerns. The facts are it’s a poor Man United but they still have multiple top quality players and we competed, as we have all season bar Burnley.

Wipe our chins and move on. We are gonna lose some games, especially away, and it wasn’t a worrying defeat or performance in truth.

Roefs and Xhaka again just look key to everything. Geertruida may well get a game RB soon.
