Bizarrely, Joao Pedro is currently top scorer in the Mexican top flight, with 8 goals in 7 games.

I wonder where Pedro stands in our pantheon of strikers?

Up there with the greats?

Of course not.

The best of the rest?

Many examples who would argue otherwise.

They also served?

Probably, his goals contributed to survival in an abysmal season.

The fact that his replacement has equalled his goals tally before Autumn sets in, speaks volumes.

We just had Pedro too old. You could tell that 5 years a go he would have been a real force.

We just had Pedro too old. You could tell that 10 years a go he would have been a real force.

Of course.

But then we wouldn't have been able to sign him.

I actually think his signing was a major positive of last season.

We could now be in the third tier, in massive debt, or financially ****ed.

Or all three.

He would do much better in the current team and the way we are playing.
Can't remember which game but there was one televised game where he spent the first 30mins pressing the opposition defenders and chasing the ball, then was absolutely knackered.

Him and Palmer against Derby, Swansea and Portsmouth. Probably more too.

- Abu Kamara was an unused sub in Getafe's 2-1 defeat to Osasuna

- Matty Jacob played the full game in Reading's 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town

- Mason Burstow played 85 minutes and scored twice in Bolton's 2-1 win over Peterborough United

- Thimothée Lo-Tutala was an unused sub in Doncaster's 1-1 draw with Burton Albion

- Rocco Coyle was an unused sub in Boston's 3-1 win over Gateshead

- Tyrell Sellars-Fleming played the first half in Scunthorpe's 1-0 defeat to Carlisle United

- Zane Myers was an unused sub in Scarborough's 3-2 win over King's Lynn Town

- Harry Revill played the full game in Salisbury's 1-0 defeat to Torquay United

If we do decide to cash in on Burstow eventually we might get back what we paid.

Kone who got 21 goals last season went to QPR for 2.75million (up to £5 million with add ons).

Burstow gets anywhere near this and we could get back the £2 million we paid or we could give him a chance here.

I was talking to a Bolton supporter at work this morning about Burstow and he said that he’s outstanding, not just his goals but his all round game. Leads the line, holds the ball up and brings others into the game.

I guess it depends if we need the cash, but he could hopefully return a much better player for next season.
