My thoughts were that he was a good striker but that his rumoured wages given our financial position were a concern. I also said that we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket when the negotiations were taking so long and we desperately needed a striker.
What exactly is unreasonable about that?
You'll have seen the back up keeper then Syd... the poster on here who was ex keeper (sorry I forgot your username) would be a better option..He's rock bottom confidence, needs taking out of the team.
If Sergj was trying to lull Preston into a sense of security for a second half barrage, it worked....Why on earth would you start with Drameh in front of Slater, and Palmer in front of Joffy?.Baffling team selection. Unless he is determined to see Drameh do something. He was pony. Palmer not much better. When we injected some pace and thinking, after the break, we got at them. But we can't start every game at the start of the second half. The first 45 was probably the worst I've seen since the last worse 45....Misplaced passes. No urgency ...Players arguing. Looked as if they'd just been introduced to each other for the first time.. Got to get it sorted or else a relegation scrap is on the cards...As for Pandur. Having seen the second goal again I just can't for the life of me get how he didn't save it...It wasn't even a hard shot, more like a back pass. Start with Phillips vs the blunts...Rant over.
ps...the prematch music was utter $hite. Embarrassingly bad.
Where have you seen Famewo is a better option than Hughes or Egan GFAW... seems a panic signing to me.. last night one touch 'in their half' a hoiked pass into midfield nearly let them in...If they're both up to it fitness wise, Ajayi and Famewo as CB's on Saturday.
And at least one proper winger to start please, with either Coyle or Drameh as RB, not with one played as a square peg in a round hole elsewhere.
Must have been, they also said the stands call out would be united for Ken Houghton so back to normal for the Blades.I’m convinced that this was just a one off to tone down the atmosphere for Ken Houghton’s tribute out of respect. I hope so anyway.
Rumoured wages .... when he was a free transfer? It was a no brainer.
The only questionning should have been related to how long we were going to give him to make his mind up before moving on to the next target.
Small point but we have been and still are the worst throw in takers ever - the oppos mark us up - we don’t mark them up !
As for Palmer , had he played in the second half when we tackled dnd moved it quicker he’d have been ok - in the first half he ran around trying to do something but as the whole team was rubbish he looked off it.
I think that’s easy to say in hindsight, but at the time our financial position was uncertain at best, McBurnie was coming off a 3 goal season in Spain and we didn’t know if or when we could register players.
I’m glad it’s worked out well, but I don’t believe anyone on here genuinely thought he would be capable of 6 goals in 9 games, he’s exceeded all expectations.
I liked it. Much better than the twat who thinks he’s at an Ibiza rave.If anyone at the club reads this site, please don't bother with the ****ing dirge we had pre match again, either the piano bloke or the opera ****e. Thank you.
Tidy player that lad Small...The first goal was especially amateur because the organisation at set pieces is obviously ****. Palmer was asking everyone else in the box who was picking up Small. Nobody did, the ball fell to him and he scored.
Drameh is so ****e in the air it’s actually unbelievable at times. 1v1 on the ground he’s actually a really good defender but anything in the air and he ****es himself. He either misjudges the flight of the ball and therefore mistimes the header or he just loses track of his man in the box.
Dunno, think the majority of players were gushing over him.
I think Chazz and I called him scoring a bag full.
