I wish Pardew would stop advertising Tiote

Maybe I'm just being paranoid but it sounds like he's telling clubs that he is for sale but at a very high price and I don't like it. Wish we could just do what Tottenham did with Modric and refuse to listen to anything.

He cant rule it out completely though, otherwise he might end up looking like and idiot like with Carroll last year. He's just saying it will take silly money to get him, which is true.
Yea that's what I thought but I just wish he could answer like Harry did in the summer and have the full support of the board.
Just keeping my fingers crossed that 20m is not what they see as an over the top bid for Tiote who we signed for 3.5m.
I'm not sure, Carroll was only linked with £20 million bids (from Spurs) originally as well and they rejected that, and the £30 million bid from Liverpool.

If we get through January without any big names going, we'll be alright in the summer as the new rules come in, meaning no team could match our valuations.

I know it's Mike Ashley and anything is possible with him, but surely even he can see that selling big names is a bad thing.

I wish Pardew/Llambias would do a Daniel Levy and just say that no big players are leaving, end of.
To be fair, he has to talk about it because they keep asking about it. And refusing to comment would suggest something IS happening.
Anyone else starting to think we could do with an extra mod? Leazes and HIAG arent on so much any more and AH has internet restrictions. Not to mention the WUMs/morons we appear to be attracting.
Mike Ashley gets criticism, but when it comes to selling players, he doesn't do it on the cheap. Only with Barton really. The biggest issue is reinvesting the cash.

Carroll's the only player I can ever recall Ashley "cashing in on". Of our recent outgoings Nolan and Enrique went for how much we spent and Barton even went on a free.
