Isak will play more than a half. He’ll get 60 plus mins imo. Ekitike is only banned for one game and have galatasary away mid week so no reason he doesn’t start that one with Isak then starting against v Chelsea before next international break.
Could be better could be worse. Home tie always good. Not against one of the big 6 which is always good. Spurs Newcastle play each other and Brighton Arsenal so 2 of those are going out which shrinks the list of realistic winners down to about 5 after the next round in theory.
I know what you mean when you say 'Big Six', but I'd rather face a lot of other teams than Palace atm. I still say put Williams and Endo out as CB's - don't risk our three remaining CBs on this crap if and until we get to the semis. If Palace win 8-0 at Anfield, but we have nobody injured (OR ****ING SUSPENDED!) I couldn't give a flying ****.
It'll be fine if we play our best 11 in their best positions. Aka Szoboszlai Look at our first 11!!!! Absolutely epic. We are so lucky to be seeing this era of lfc. Ok wirtz has to adapt but we can make.choices to stick him wide left and put macallister in for example. We've won titles and cls without having this level of talent. Amazing line up. They just need to perform.
We are going to play Palace at least three times this season. We have them in the league cup fourth round.
People forget either took the lead v palace and conceded a sloppy pen, took the lead again and were really comfortable but did the usual sit back and miss a few easy chances and then concede. The difficult part of this game is its away. Great ground great crowd. Old school.
The reason I was so keen on Isak coming to Liverpool from way back is that he is simply the most clinical finisher in the Premier League. OK, he did miss an easy chance against Southampton but once he regains the kind of sharpness he had last season, I am confident that more chances will be taken. He will have to start against Palace but does not have 90 minutes in him yet
Owen says Harland is not actually a great finisher. He misses a lot of fairly easy chances. His movement is incredible however and gets into amazing positions and therefore gets lots of chances. Then again, Owen is prone to talking a load of bollocks.
I'd agree with that - he makes a lot of space for himself somehow. There were stats season before last showing that Haaland missed more chances than Nunez.
Owen is an idiot Haaland is like kane. Its the yard or space, not brilliant movement. They know where to get to for the best chance of a goal amd can make that yard. Its a very particular form of "movement". others can make space for others, some can pop up from nowhere. Stickers like kane and haaland know where the best chances are to be had. Ive said.many a time about nunez making made runs way past the nesr post and never being in the zone of danger. You don't need to just move. You.need to know where to move. They will step in then come back out for that yard, they will get across in front of the cb. Haaland scores plenty. Owne hasn't a clue and comes out with some awful tripe. Danns is the best we have developed since fowler. Owen never had that movement. Ekitike looks like he comes too short too.much but he has taken up some good positions and missed what 4 headers already he should have scored. Given his goals tally so far am i to say he is a **** striker as a result? Nope.
Exactly. Selfish movement towards that zone then a short move to create that yard. Compare that to intricate movements and 1/2s that you'd see from salah or silva or wirtz or the like. If you are watching say Ekitike come short and wirtz move into the space that's quality, complex. If you are watching haaland jogging up to the box not involved just waiting for the others get ready, he knows where the goals come from and they make shorter moves to get that yard
That's a whole different debate. I rate a lot of attacking players above Haaland. But Haaland is a goal scorer, and he takes some bearing in that department
