I only saw the last half hour but that was surprisingly enjoyable. Quarshie looked much more assured and Ekitiké getting sent off for that goal celebration was one of the funniest (and stupidest) things I've seen for a while. Downs looked poor. I'm quite surprised Stewart isn't getting more game time.

Wow, I've just seen their first goal. Ridiculous pass from McCarthy. Full-on Martinball nonsense.

It’s a moot point, but I don’t get how we didn’t get the corner at the end. Surely physics says if Gomez won the ball, it’s a corner. If the ref and lino think it’s come off Charles, Gomez has to go through him and it’s a pen. Obviously it was a great tackle, but I’m baffled as to how this can’t be the case for the officials, it’s clearly a corner.

Nope just seen it again and I reckon VAR would have disallowed it. I know it was really close but his forward leg was offside but off course its Liverpool so ITV don't even debate it. It wasn't an obvious "not offside"
Yeah, I'm not sure either way but I thought it looked very tight.

Luckily we didn't have VAR ruining the game with long delays.

I'm still not convinced. Wood is just keeping him onside for me.

Wonder if tiredness might have had an impact on that goal at the end. Defensive line all over the place.

By the time Chiesa touches it, the line is all over the place. But at the point the ball leaves Robertson's foot, Jelert, Edwards, Quarshie, and Manning all look fairly in line. The problem is that Wood is behind them all.
