Calling people names and insulting people is personal folders. The opinion shouldn't be attacked either it should be challanged.
I think I know what personal is and what it isn’t. As anyone can see from my post mine was a general observation. So why are you trying to teach me something I learned in primary school? Attacking an opinion, challenging an opinion, disputing an opinion, debating an opinion, arguing an opinion = semantics. I don’t really care which word you choose, it makes no difference if it isn’t personal and is on facts or opinions.
Maybe, but as I said elsewhere, there's a dullness, a flatness, to Newcastle at the moment. We're only "missing" Wissa, who I think will be as effective as Barnes and Elanga, and Ramsey. They're not exactly the difference between an excellent, flowing attacking force and the insipid 9 behind the ball we're seeing at the moment. When we signed Elanga I said that all we had wide were straight line runners, there's nothing else there. If we go 4-3-3, where does Woltemade fit in? If we go 5-3-2 where does £100m+ players in Elanga and Barnes fit in? We don't really seem to have a clear idea in any part of the club. It's just muddled.
I think EH is going for having more options and being less predictable. Wissa scored the same number of open play goals as Isak last season. And hand on heart if Isak hadn’t acted like a rat we would all have been happy to have him still here.
Okay, where is the question? You've been passive aggressive since you got out of the wrong side of bed, yesterday. Go and munch some muesli, mate.
I'm sure he is, which is fine, but today was poor and really we go back to Everton last season, the pre-season, and it's all crept into this season. Here's a quick take on today - when you play 5-4-1, you stifle your full backs as the wing is too crowded, it pushes you into a back five, allows the opponents full backs further up and draws wide players back too. The midfield of two can't get a hold of the game and so you're really setting yourself up for - at best - 0-0. I would've assumed having Bruno/Joelinton on the bench, and Bradford in midweek, that there was a plan to keep it 0-0 or better then change things. We didn't have that plan - we made like for like subs which weakened us and 0-0 was then the best we were ever going to get. I think something needs to change at the club.
GNev, prat though he is, called it for Arsenal where he said the managers job is to get the best players on the pitch - Arteta has subbed on Saka and Eze, who really should be starting. Howe does the same thing and not to good effect. Pep and Slot just get their best XI on the pitch where they're fit enough Someone mentioned about rotation - it's GW 5, not 20, and we've had an Int'l break - that our best XI aren't selected is mental. Howe and Arteta are quite similar, both very good but they can focus on the wrong things and just don't seem to be 'elite'.
Can’t really comment on today as I didn’t see the game as opposed to listened to it on the radio. As an aside radio commentators today are useless as they fail to relay the game to the listener and seem to just want to come across as mates chatting about the game they are watching. I couldn’t even tell you based on the commentary what tactic(s) we used. Would say though that 5-4-1 doesn’t have to stifle the full backs as it can give you an overload down the wing. Possibly didn’t today but that can be done if played correctly. Overall we are bedding in new players, have lost 2 of the new signings and are experiencing the impact of the Isak saga and the losing of our main striker. For me, it’s a give it time phase and see what happens.
It is ad hominem without a doubt folders. I'm not being passive aggressive that's you attacking the person and trying to make them look bad as opposed to debating the issue. Just for clarity I've said I don't think this sides very good and I don't think we'll get back in the Champions league and I don't think you get to insult me online for saying it and I certainly won't just say thank you.
Don't disagree with your final sentence at all - we will see, in time. I think where the club rather than Howe have gotten things badly wrong is the handling of the Summer. This kind of stuff will happen. Look at B'mth - they lost three of their backline, yet comfortably kept a clean sheet and are in the top 4, because they managed the situation correctly. They didn't piss their pants over Huijsen or Zabarnyi, just quietly got on with well scouted replacements and pocketed a load of money. We were inarguably a ****ing shambles. It cannot happen again as we can't keep saying 'it takes time' every year when our better players get bought. That's where my main frustration lies.
Welshie has called you out on it as well. It’s not just me saying it. Now try answering my question in my penultimate post with you otherwise you can argue with yourself until the cows come home.
