Red One, hmm, a feelgood movie that appeals to those without any imagination and just want to see an action movie that has everything for those that are easily plaesed as long as Dwayne Johnsons flexes his muscles. It's for kids, or those with an IQ of a kid. 2/10
Nowt wrong with watching a daft action movie for me, especially after a hard day. The "plot" sounds ridiculous like .
Watched Dream Scenario tonight, interesting film. Basically about extraordinary things happening to an ordinary bloke and the frustrations life has for us. Didn't love the ending but it was thought provoking, the whole film was. Probably the best I've seen from Nic Cage, really liked his performance. It's on Amazon btw.
Good isn't it, the same writer/director's previous film Caveat is well worth a watch, saw it the other day. Very tense and atmospheric.
Had to dig deep to find this thread, not been a great year for films I suppose. Watched Strange Darling (Sky) tonight, good film. Generally speaking it's a thriller but there's a lot going on, I'd mainly recommend it to people who like seeing something original but that's not to say that the plot isn't good, it is.
Watched The Missing, a 2003 western on Netflix. For someone who prefers the oldies like the The Magnificent Seven and John Wayne's the Searchers, this was excellent.
Haven't seen that one but on the same theme Old Henry is a good recent (but traditional) western. Think it's on Sky Cinema.
I may have missed it, but has nobody mentioned The Wild Bunch- possibly one of the finest westerns ever made.
If you like westerns (sort of western) watch the series on Netflix American Primevil its absolute class
Put The Natural on my list to watch on Netflix couple days before Redford passed. Watched for first time in decades. Really good.
Went to see The Long Walk last week, very good and faithful to the book apart from the ending (unless I misremembered the book ending). Saw it at the Omniplex in the town which I have to say was fantastic. Reclining seats , loads of legroom, less than £10 a head.
Wow! Literally my first thought when I saw the thread title. Watched it in 1990 at summer camp in the states thinking what a load of American crap!…..crying like a baby by the end and still the same today
Enjoyed this one, it's somewhat billed as a horror but it's a comedy albeit a dark one. Had me laughing out loud quite a few times. The Monkey on Amazon.
