Was a frustrating afternoon, if we bagged an early goal from those dangerous corners we were putting in then would’ve been a very different outcome I think. But we kept going and going like we always do and got the reward
I spent half of that game screaming for us to get behind them. Everything went central and it was relatively easy for Burnley to defend the penalty area It’s going to take a few weeks/months for us to be more fluid going forward. and yet, here we are 4/4 wins…not bad at all while we’re still figuring stuff out…..I suspect next week will be tasty.
Carragher was mouthing off building his Little story about how poor we were blah blah. Zero analysis. Nothing knowledgeable offered. They save it for ht obviously but they should at least highlight how Burnley were denying space
Hard to get behind a team when their 5 defenders are on edge of their box and 4 midfielders are 10 yards ahead with their cf 5 ahead of that to be fair.
even harder when your wingers are inverted and want to cut inside every single time. We had the ball wide plenty. We came inside nearly every time. We were heading towards the congestion.
Few comments for slot. 1. Rotating players? Nope. Subs on 60mins is not rotating. 2. Faith in players. Nope. 3. Back to the same 11 ot 14 players. Yup. Macallister shouldn't have started this game. No way. He did ok but he was walking pace most of it, not thet anyone else did much else. No faith in bradley by the look of it either. Bradley was so desperate to impress he was running anywhere and everywhere. Just a sign of desperation for me. Wait till the last throw of the dice to lob on nguomha and frimpong and leave salah on again.
I was surprised we went same again, but he was protecting Bradley and Frimpong, it was easy to do so given Szobs motm performance vs Arsenal at RB. No faith in Bradley is nonsense, he was integral last season
Other than the fact he's been played by ni and he sat the guy down until trent made his announcement sure.
I thought he and Szobbo were interchanging and both playing that Trent role quite well, tbh. It's a pity that nobody since Mane is prepared to come back and do that on the left.
