Apparently the Bella ciao song is directly linked to Fuentes. On a playlist supporters use. Admittedly that seems odd given its usual anti fascist links. Who knows. Regardless of ideology anyone that decides to murder someone isn’t right psychologically so trying to interpret their use of engravings might be a fools errand. Might be literal, ironic or random for all we know.
Sad that everything is about shock value and clicks now. Think a lot of what Kirk has said is a good example of this, because when you look into some of the accusations of what he has supposedly said, its more digestible with the context. Obviously, this doesn't make him misunderstood because he was still a nucleus of bad, despite his faith. But now we are seeing more outrageous statements on both sides. People declaring the left are blood thirsty, that they caused his death. Utter trifle, its not even up for debate either, taking the whole left side of the political spectrum and giving them blame for a man's death by a single person. So hypocritical, especially when you see the rhetoric preached by their lord and saviour Sleepy Don.
Interesting reading out how Kirk started out with an essay at 18 on schools spreading propaganda and indoctrination to left ideals. I honestly think that should probably have been a warning sign that he was at risk of radicalism given his school was in Utah and almost certainly very conservative. I suppose in the US radical right views as perceived here are more widely accepted so maybe it wasn’t seen as alarming. That said Farages school days had some allegedly alarming far right warnings too and there seems to have been limited intervention or challenge. Perhaps freedom of speech and expression isn’t as compromised as we are told.
This. Also there are a lot of people who support fascism now but deny they do. I’ve missed Kirk and no little about him but it seemed he deliberately targeted people eg getting people to intimidate female journalists , black commentators and the likes as well as guns. There’s an irony in this death and some of those now playing the victim. I’d say his wider family are the victims in this. They watched him die in an awful way no one should ever see of a loved one and he in a way invited it with his words and behaviours. He could have been nice to people instead. They probably wish he’d kept his mouth shut.
Reform banned journalists they don’t like from their conference days after Farage mentioned free speech to garner money attention and power. He’s the biggest fraud in politics and there are very many idiots who can’t see past his manipulation including a few on here.
This is the most frustrating thing, there are obviously good, misguided people amongst the fascists. Labelling them all fascists just sort of disintegrates the potential of reigning them back into sanity.
A pathetic, orange self centred, thin skinned, misogynistic, felon mess. How any young person would want to support that is beyond me. Demonstrates the power of social media and how people can be manipulated.
Labelling people as fascists when they aren't fascists but have views that are right of centre is a huge part of the problem. It doesn't make people change their minds, it just pushes them further towards the real fascists. And the same thing happens the other way around. This is one of the drivers of this polarisation.
Social media defo plays a part but I think a lot of it lies with the opposition, solely because of how weak they are. It’s the same with Farage here. If the UK wasn’t in such a **** state I doubt Reform would even be a thing. He wouldn’t have anywhere near the support he has if the Tories/Labour hadn’t been dreadful. Regardless of our own personal opinions which will differ massively, immigration is one of if not THE biggest issue for a lot of people in this country. I think the overwhelming majority of us would accept immigration is a good thing whereas some on the far end of the spectrum will argue they want none at all and others on the other side will argue for an open border for everyone but those with common sense (in my opinion) will be somewhere in the middle. But when two parties have struggled to deal with the problem for so long it sways people to supporting the radical option. Do I think he will ever be PM? Absolutely not. But if Reform have any braincells between them they’ll continue to do exactly what the opposition parties have done for decades and simply highlight the current governments failings and say they will fix it, pull slightly toward a more central model, keep picking off MP’s from other parties and rid themselves of Farage.
Having just seen the news I'm now convinced the USA is a lost cause and a great cause for concern. Trump looks as though he's intent on a state funeral for Kirk and the death penalty for the culprit. Kirk's wife has chosen to ramp up the tension and appeal for retaliation, not calm. That's her choice, of course, but she came across in a way that frightened me tbh ... ... this is all becoming hysterical and the the incidents more frequent. I should really stop watching the news and clicking on threads like this, it's all so bitter and hateful.
Extremely dangerous times, certainly in the states and sadly spreading to Europe.. the lunatics are taking over the asylums
This is absolutely correct. Conditions in this country have been conducive to the rise of a nationalist/right wing movement/figure. Without those conditions, Farage wouldn't be anywhere near mainstream politics. You can point to financial conditions since the 2008 economic situation and you can point to societal attitudes. It's all a reaction to that.
Agree in parts mate all I would say is this Labour inherited an absolute clusterfck from the Tories with 14 years of incompetence and underinvestment in all our public services. Of course this wasn’t helped by Brexit which absolutely ruined our economy so we can’t generate the funds to have decent public services. Of course Brexit was down to Farage, Johnson and Gove who repeatedly told us not to listen to experts who told us it would ruin our economy and increase immigration. Why anyone would think Farage has the answers to anything when he is a major contributor to the state of the country is beyond me.
Get ready to be satiated then because one of the potential replacements for Kirk is Fuentes who will say he is a racist and then proceed to explain via crime statistics and data why exactly he is one, and considering his exponential growth over the last 6 months he is convincing an awful lot of people that his "pattern recognition" is a requirement to save the country. People never learn.
And is nearly always the left, reading an article about troubles in France in the guardian, always says left, centre then extreme far right. Why not just say left centre and right. It seems like it all started with the brown gov and the bigoted woman slur.
But there are people who are pretty openly espousing fascism st this point and some of our aspiring government have been mimicking their practices I’d argue this stuff leads to violence and polarisation more than a bit of name calling https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOet6XTCNwa/?igsh=N3Y2b25sOXVnYXFv
In the world of fast fashion, nowt sticks, we'll see what happens. The race seems to be between Fuentes and Ben Shapiro, one pro Israel the other an Israel sceptic.
