I would like to whole heartedly apologise to all fellow Tigers fans. Following his Hat-trick against Scunny, I put Matty Fryatt into my Fantasy League team. I do not need to tell you that he has not scored since and I feel that I must take some responsibility for this. The results of my decision to start the season with Duke and Zayatte in my team have shown the power my decisions can have! My previous errors were solved with a simple transfer, unfortunately I do not have any left for the season so Matty is in for the long haul. Once again I am very sorry.
Tigercity, thank you for a considered and polite reply to my light hearted post. Terribly sorry to have upset you! I will wait with interest on further advice on how I can improve my posts to come up with something as erudite as yourself. Returning to my theme, has anyone else got the ability to pick fantasy league players at just the wrong moment? A freind of mine was explaining to me his reasons for putting Ayala into his Prem team. I left it a couple of weeks before pointing out that he had just moved to us!
in my Sky PL team I chose Rooney and Lampard based on last season - you can imagine where that got me. funnily enough Duke and Zayatte were also the two City players I put in my CH team
I am certain that Matty will come good, but 6 in 6 before I put him in with 0 from 4 since! My jinxing skills work for all teams though, very few players maintain their form or fitness once I move them in. I have attempted to balance the effect by including Howson and Yakubu as well though, this will hopefully help us out in the long term!
Erm... sorry I think I owe u an apology.. I mis-read the article thinking you were a WUM trying to say that Fryatt had let you down in your fantasy league and trying to make out City's players were rubbish.... In fact you're a City fan too so I was out of order.. shouldn't really write comments with a hangover after City have lost..
The problem with fantasy league is that the media will obviously hype a player as he hits peak form, so everyone will stick him in their team at this point. From this point 90% of players will go downhill, it's how form works!
i picked eric canton-ooh-ah just before he tangled with ex-tiger shaw and went flying feetfirst into a crowd in his attempt to catch a mackere that had been thrown from a trawler. i think.
