It’s a massive problem for Starmer because Rayner is hugely popular with the grassroots, working class Labour supporters, something he is not. Her popularity is also a key reason why the conservatives look to undermine her at every opportunity, rightly or wrongly. I have already said that if she has knowingly acted in a corrupt manner, then she has to be held to account and punished but Starmer will still have to be careful about how he handles this because she could quite easily move over to the “Your Party”, which is probably more in line with her political views than the current Labour Party is. I think that some of the Tories have a similar view to this video, about Rayner. How dare a woman who cared for her bipolar mother when still a child, who became pregnant at 16(?) and, with the help of Labour’s Sure Start programme, rose to become a member of parliament.
People like to convince themselves it is all about class. Not in that kind but of upbringing and background but the reality is quite simply about glass houses. She was used by the Labour party as a battering ram against the "Tory Scum" because of her backstory. Constantly pushed out there to criticise and call for resignations on things like "wot she just done herself." Quite simply its the glass houses part. If it had been a posh Labour or if she had not been constantly the spearhead of these attacks it would be different.
As I said, a bit sooner than I thought, she stood down following the ethics adviser's report. Not because of the clamouring of the rabid right wing gutter press and online social media disgraces. I was right on the button, thankyou and goodnight.
You can make your own mind up whether she was dishonest or plain stupid, either way she had to do the honourable thing, the gutter press would never give up until they succeeded in their quest.
There was a reshuffle already in progress it will just be a little bit different than originally planned.
Clearly the right thing if the investigation has made her position untenable and bad for the Government. However it isn't a case of 'they are all the same', because an issue has been uncovered, due process has taken place and Angela Rayner has left her job as a result, which is a nice contrast to the Tories lack of due process and months long scandals where the PM would just repeatedly say 'I consider the matter close'. It is oddly actually evidence of some kind of improvement in standards.
Lot of knuckle shuffling going on amongst the righteous in right the tories, reform and their scumbag press.
Yep. Imagine having a PM who had outright lied to the population who didn’t leave. Or important party members flouting laws they themselves had put in place. This is a blow for Labour, but their record on dealing with issues is strong. A bit too strong at times for me, but strong.
We all know that there is nothing the Labour Party could teach the Tories about dishonesty, they are (not all) already World leaders in that department...
What is needed is a thorough review of the housing funding arrangements of all MPs. That should send a whole tranche of Tory MPs scuttling of to the press to tell them to back off their attack on Rayner before it rebounds on them.
She's quick on the typewriter then. lol. 2 pages? That was ready and waiting well before the report hit Kier's desk and he's quick on the type writer too writing his reply within minutes Amazing. These guys have skills. I thought I typed fast. EDIT: Turns out Starmer didn't type his up. He scribbled it in big text in crayon on 3 pages by the looks of it. lol Personal touch.
Led by Donkeys are taking a long time to get their Raynor billboard out there. You would think they only had an agenda against those preceived to be on the right of politics. Come on lads, get a move on.
