Carrero, 18, is a left footed winger who can also play down the middle in an attacking midfield role as well if needed. He is being tipped for a bright future in the game.
TEAMtalk claimed in March that the Tigers and Norwich City wanted him along with some unnamed Premier League, LaLiga and Portuese Liga teams. Galetti then claimed a month later on X that that Fenerbahce were admirers.
In this latest update though regarding the player by the same source on X, he is set to join NK Maribor. The ‘plan’ is for him to stay in Slovenia until June before moving to Hull City.
The Tigers can’t spend fees at the moment due to their transfer restriction. Their website released a statement last month reading: “Following our appeal to the Club Financial Review Panel, we have received confirmation that the three-window transfer fee restrictions imposed on us have been reduced to two windows, with the third window suspended. Our justification regarding the payment dates was not accepted by the panel.”
Hull City may have identified Carrero as someone capable of breaking into their first-team down the line. HCAFC have been linked with him for a while now.
He is under contract with Deportivo Tachira until December 2026 meaning his long-term situation has been up in the air over recent times. The Venezuela youth international has been on their books for his whole career to date and has risen up through their academy ranks.
Carrero has been a regular for them at various different youth levels and has played two competitive matches for their senior team.
