Yeah agreed. The advantage of not maxing out this summer, though, is that we don’t have to get those sales done just to stay the right side of PSR. We’ll be able to drive a reasonably hard bargain with the vultures, thankfully.

Would love to be in that position in a year or 2 where we just need to tweak and fine tune the starting 11. Would mean we're getting to where we wanna be slowly but surely.

Yep,can't completely overhaul the squad every window. We've done it now...there'll be one or two who don't show the promise we thought...but that happens,it isn't an exact science. A couple of additions here and there over the next couple of years is what I'm expecting.

Great to put that face to the voice. Hope he get things sorted with Sky and his videos or whatever his issues have been. Always good to hear what he thinks.

We will go for Lucumi in Jan for half the price if we look like we are staying up.

To be fair football is an emotional game. We made a complete arse of the summer transfer window in our 2nd championship season. We then endured Beale and Dodds and limped to a 16th place finish. I think criticism of that period was fair just like the praise being recieved since is fair. Fans are emotive creatures and will say it as they see it. Yes some of it was overboard but that's always the case as is the case with life it's a lot easier to criticise than praise.

18 months on his deal. Half the price won't get it done. They've shown they will dig in.

    Just a quickie about Roberts.

There’s some mixed feelings about him but when the dust has settled my feelings are that he will be fondly remembered as a good thing and will join the likes of Malbranque, Sorensen, Larsson and McGeady as being one of ours.
Basically, one of our good guys.
Remember, he’s still ours and maybe we will need him next season if things go badly.

Love Roberts me. One of the best technically gifted footballers I've seen pull on our shirt. I totally get that his goals and assists output wasn't great but he was a player who genuinely got me on the edge of my seat and he will always be fondly remembered by me.

The Brum loan is the right move for Roberts.

But I will say - given how well he played with Amad, I am intrigued by how well he might play alongside Xhaka, Diarra, Sadiki and Le Fee. He's technically excellent, but when he tried to win games by himself it often flamed out. When he's not the "main man" does it bring out the best him? All theoretical, mind.

I’d bet it will never be only one or two. I suspect it will always be at least four in a summer window. Possibly only one or two in a January window though. Standing still is going backwards as I think Reidy might have said.

I am slightly less enthusiastic about the window...

As an employment lawyer I often have to use "Project [NAME]" as the title for various of my files so that the team in the accounts department don`t see "Employment Advice re Redundancy of John Smith" when they process the billing payment...

I have historically used a number of SAFC players surnames (I`ve had Project Ballard/Hume/Patterson/Rigg/Wilson/Onion/ in the past) I am really going to struggle to use any of the new lads surnames...I can probably use a mis-spelt "Roof", maybe a "Gran", "Noah" or "Omar" but after that I`m starting to struggle...

Just opened "Project Brie" today...the clients think that the names are randomly generated...

He’s basically been denied the opportunity of playing with our better players all summer. Perhaps that’s fine, but it does feel like it was worth us exploring at least a little.
