http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ransfer-news-Tottenham-want-Carlos-Tevez.html TOTTENHAM boss Harry Redknapp is plotting a sensational move for Manchester City outcast Carlos Tevez. Spurs have made enquiries about a £20million offer for the Argie rebel which could reunite him with on-loan City star Emmanuel Adebayor at White Hart Lane. A source close to the talks said: "People at Tottenham reckon a deal like this could be bigger than anything since they signed Jurgen Klinsmann. "There's definite interest. The big stumbling block could be whether or not City are prepared to do business with a team now regarded as one of their rivals for the title." City want Tevez out after a string of run-ins with boss Roberto Mancini but the Italian is adamant only a permanent deal will do. The striker's £198,000-a-week wages would shatter Spurs' pay structure. But the insider added: "There are some who reckon Tevez signing would pretty much guarantee Champions League football and that it would be worth the investment." AC Milan want Tevez on an initial loan deal and vice-president Adriano Galliani said: "We know we have the player's agreement but we hope he'll not agree with other clubs."
That comment from Milan is scandalous. I assume that they've been given permission to talk to him by City, because that's just a clear admission of tapping up otherwise. So we're selling Pavlyuchenko and bringing in Torres and Tevez, according to the press? Sounds plausible!
I don't particuarly want the Argie football whore anywhere near the place, disruptive, refuses English, and just ****s off when he feels like it. I also can't see Levy and Joorbachian getting on too well really.
So Kaka and Tevez are now targets. Somehow I think the journo's have been having a few early Xmas drinks. Would be amazing if true, but I really doubt it.
Not sure i'd want him on a permanent deal. If we could nab him on loan for the rest of the season though
No quotes, no realistic idea as to how we could afford Tevez' wages, no substance to this story. I'm not saying it can't happen, I am saying there's no evidence worthy of note here to think that it will.
Forget all the drama surrounding him. He is a top quality player and for me one of the best strikers in the world. With a manager like Harry who would give him the attention and praise he seems to crave I think signing him would take us to another level. Tevez, Bale, Van Der Vaart and Modric.
I would love him at the Lane KH, but there's no substance to this story, so I won't be thinking about it yet. If we get some relevant quotes from people involved, and some explanation of how we are going to pay his wages, and also keep our other players happy on far lower wages, then I might get excited. The Ade one has been 'smoothed' by City paying some of his wages, they surely won't be doing the same for Tevez too? Of course, if they do, that's part of the way round some of the problems, we'll see what happens. My guess is that this is a non-starter, but if all the problems, and there would be many, could be ironed out then I'd love Tevez at the Lane. He is strong enough to lead the line, so we could play him with Ade and instead of him, where necessary.
They've been in talks with City for the past two or three weeks, which have been widely reported. The fact with Tevez is that he gets itchy feet every two seasons, so if we had him for 18 months before selling him on for a profit that's not a problem. The fact the story is obvious sloblock, on the other hand...
I'd take Tevez in a trice, even knowing that we'll get only two - a best - decent seasons out of him. Say what you want about him, but the man is a goal machine. In fact, he does everything that Defoe does not or cannot do, which is track back, run-down players, tackle, work hard for 90 minutes... oh, and score 20+ goals every season. Plus, if our Harry can't handle him, no manager will ever be able to. Of course, I do not believe, for one minute, that this deal is ever likely to happen. I could see us landing both Torres for £20 million and taking Kaka on loan, before we signed Tevez. And that wouldn't be so bad as an alternative, anyway
Torres, Tevez and Kaka? I know Kaboul's played well this season but I'm not sure we're quite ready to play him on his own with Parker, Modric, Lennon, Kaka, Bale, VDV, Tevez and Ade in front of him! Considering Tevez turned down a move to Corinthians because they couldn't afford his wages, I'm not sure he's going to want to half his wages to move about 10 miles closer to Argentina
Am I really the only person to notice Corinthians aren't an Argentinian club, but a Brazilian one? Also, why is it the press are reporting City's side of events, without doing about ten seconds' worth of research on Google? Tevez handed in a transfer request over a year ago, and City are trying to hold him to his contract yet refuse to play him - with Mancini resorting to making up stories of him refusing to play which no other member of City's say happened, yet the club fine him regardless. The geniuses on Football Focus also keep making out that he engineered his move away from Old Trafford, when in fact the club never offered him a contract. Would Tevez act up if he joined us, or either Milan club, or whoever else takes him on? Probably not - because he'd want to be at the club, get games, and the manager wouldn't orginise a kangaroo court to punish a player for whatever cock and bull story he'd made up about him.
Corinthians is Tevez' old club, Croydon. It may not be in Argentina, but it's pretty much the next best thing and probably as close as he'll get. I can't see an Argentinian club stumping up for him, somehow.
What gets me Italy is even further away from Argentina.Oh well, i don't think we could pay 200k a week, thus making all our other stars wanting parity.Think Torres would be a better bet, even though we cant afford his wages either.
