Regarding the need to shift the deadwood,
It’s worth pointing out that the window stays open after 7pm in some places. Scotland (11pm) and Portugal (midnight) are today.

Netherlands (Sept 2), Belgium and Switzerland (Sept 8), Turkey and Greece (Sept 12) and Saudi (Sept 23) also open.(you never know )

I know nothing, but it seems the players that have come in are proven in the positions they play in but are more than competent in other roles. We haven't had many of those over the last couple of seasons
