I’m a bit on the fence with Brobbey. Had a poor season and it’s a big step up to the prem. could be our third Dutch international though with Roefs and Geertruida.

 

Also it's not as if the goal scoring burden is solely on him or whoever comes in, as we have two good strikers in mayenda and Wilson

true. I think it’s possible it might be a smoke screen to show that we are not desperate to other clubs, and also puts him in the shop window. His agent is the same as RLB, mukiele and a few other of our French players. Not sure why you otherwise leak that a deal is possible but not close

Brobbey looks a player in the mould of Thiago for Brentford. A bit of a punt but his physicality would certainly come in handy at times. That said he’s not that tall- 5’11 apparently.

 

Whatever happens there’ll be complaints about who we've signed/not signed, which positions we've been left short in, who we haven’t moved on, which players haven't signed contracts, who isn’t getting enough minutes, which players are walking sicknotes, etc etc etc …

… once you learn to ignore all that it’s a doddle

 

Brobbey to essentially be a backup striker fighting for the main position is fine with me. He was the victim of a pretty bad bit of extortion while in Amsterdam in which a friend of his was shot so I think he would do a lot better with a change of scenery
