I can't believe they got away with the penultimate ball 2 though, either fielder could have caught it fairly comfortably! But that sealed it since a tie was good enough for Middx anyway
Could Hampshire play their home match at any ground other than The Utilita Bowl? It would seem that the Bowl is the only ground being used, but is that set in stone?
In terms of squad selection, my view is the same as it is every year. We should select the best XI which will be available to us on Thursday, whatever that might be. So if, for example, Dawson is available, then sorry but Organ should make way. Although when I say "best", I don't just mean names on paper. Form plays a part in that question to.
They've already announced that they will be giving up the home advantage. I was wondering if the Bowl Nursery Ground would be up to standard for it, nobody seemed to mention that as an option.
Of course, if they started at 10.30am rather than 11am they could probably play at the Bowl and have the game finished by the time the Brave game is due to start at 6.30pm. I know it's not as simple as that, but it would probably work on that front at least. If it is Sky covering the game on Thurs then they wouldn't really be bothered with a flexible start time (e.g. 6.40pm) once the first game has cleared and the toss can be done etc. but if it's BBC that wouldn't be an option.
Yep, hopefully we'll have both Dawson and Fuller available along with Abbott back. My team: 1. Orr 2. Gubbins (capt) 3. Middleton 4. Albert 5. Brown (wk) 6. Mayes 7. Dawson 8. Fuller 9. Neal or Organ 10. Abbott 11. Jack
The BBC fixtures has already listed it as Radlett. Update: Middlesex Twitter (X) also confirming Radlett as the venue for Thursday.
I'm not expecting Fuller or Albert to be available. But Baker or Currie might be - probably not both.
It's very unlikely that Middlesex will have Du Plooy, Holden or Eskinazi available - not least because two of them will probably be playing at the Bowl that day. But I'd expect them to have Higgins available, and maybe Helm and/or Gofar.
The weather looks a bit dodgy on Thursday. If it was to be washed out, we would progress due to the higher group finish. Alas that would work against on Sunday though, if it came to that.
From what I can find of the playing regulations online, it's a minimum of 20 overs in 2nd innings to constitute a game. If that's not possible then it's a bowl out. If they can't stage a bowl out then it's to be decided by the toss of a coin.
