Mate we don’t have a striker. We couldn’t muster a shot vs 10 man Villa, who haven’t had a great summer. This is Liverpool. We’ll probably start all huff and puff, with a few tackles bringing roars of approval, but it’s run of the mill to elite sides and they’ll just pick us off knowing we don’t really have a threat. It’s criminal we’re entering the second match without a striker.
While I don’t deny it’s a bit bad we don’t have a striker. I think this game is a unique game and will be an absolute epic historic game with us winning. I may indeed be wrong mind.
If you look back over our last 10 or so games last season, you might be quite surprised. Isak scored about 4 or 5 goals in total, half of which (at least) were penalties. Plenty of goals from Bruno, Barnes, Murphy and Tonali with the odd one from Schaf, Burn and Osula. The situation at the moment is **** but it’s not as bad as people make outs. Not having goals in the team is just a really ****ing bad and lazy narrative being pedalled to glorify the fact that Isak isn’t in the team and we’re **** without him!
