They shouldn't add pressure at this stage of an innings, not to a top professional. The 100 doesn't require huge scores to win matches. Especially at Cardiff. Especially against Fire, who only have half an attack. Keep wickets in hand, then cash in.
To put it into context, I'm not looking at Henry's figures at thinking "wow, he's only conceded two from 15." I'm thinking "they've still got 70 balls to bowl, and Henry can only bowl 5 of them".
I get that Smith is Fire's big signing. But they would be so much better suited selecting Meredith instead. You can see off two bowlers in the 100, but you can't see off three bowlers. If Meredith was playing alongside Henry and Payne, I think Fire would be more dangerous.
5 runs off Henry's 20 balls. He's bowled well but that's ridiculous. Pretty much wasted a fifth of the innings.
Which is why you need wickets in hand. Of course you're going to gift a few wickets when trying to go hard. If LDP hadn't gifted his wicket to Henry, we might have had another wicket to play with too.
And we're ahead of a run per ball. Yes we're going to need to really hard in this second half, but we're clearly seeing the drop off in qualify of bowling.
My point is we have to go TOO hard now. I understand it was top class bowling but there wasn't enough effort to get the scoreboard ticking over. And how many wickets did we have left against Trent Rockets? 6 or 7? 100 balls isn't a lot at the end of the day, to only get 5 off 20 is very poor.
