Dont blame him for the goal but wonder if Crooks could have got a block in if he didn't turn his body so he didn't get hurt.
I've got no idea why virtually every professional player does this. The amount of times I got it straight in the face or ball when playing was unbelievable but also stopped a fair few goals

The attacking football is unlike anything I’ve seen at the MKM in years. It wasn’t just the goals that were good either. We absolutely dominated them and controlled the game. They scored two good goals and that’s something we will need to work on to clear our lines better. The 3-2-5 shape by having both fullbacks push up high and wide whilst the wingers go narrow and the number 6 drops between the centre-backs creates so many options when attacking. They had to go to a back five in the second half to try and deal with it. We might be a little exposed if hit on the counter but that’s the price you pay for attacking football and I’m sure the coach will be more conservative if and when it’s necessary.

Excellent wasn’t it. Interesting a manager that has simple instructions, makes the team look so complicated and intricate on the pitch.

It’s obvious too that the team really like the manager and want to play for him and each other.

Well that was great. Proper enjoyable match, when was the last time we scored 3 at home? None of our players were duff and with Lundstram, McBurnie and Crooks providing a bit of grit we look a lot tougher and less “nice”. Can’t see Coyle getting a game until a gap opens up through injury.

does anyone know wtf the ref was playing at making Drameh and Hughes? go off after they went down even though they didn’t get treatment? Is this a new league rule? It’s **** if it is.

wow, what a game! The quick passing and fearlessness in attack is something we've been crying out for, for years. Credit to Sergej and the lads, hopefully we'll have plenty more performances like that at home.

Apparently it's a new ruling, players with head injuries must leave the pitch, seems fkn stupid if they aren't then seen by the physio to do proper checks, and neither were !

I quite like the rule, plenty of players will stop doing it now late on to waste time.

Didn’t like it today tho! Ref is corrupt

I get that but Drameh didn't even go down or complain, ref decided because the ball hit his head it was a head injury ffs.

Brilliant game. Some of our attacking play was the best I’ve seen for two seasons and was was a joy to watch. If we have a little bit more luck with injuries this year then it could be a very good season.

Having said that, Crooks and Ndala already look doubtful for the Blackburn game.

Tbf to Crooks he went down like he'd had his leg amputated against Wrexham then 5 minutes later was running round like a gazelle !

I can’t remember Drameh going down at all - my recollection is he did a Coyle-style shot block with his face and the ref made him go off. If he sent him to the bench to get a concussion check I could just about get on board with it, but he sent him to East stand touch line. Seems utterly pointless.

Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside:

"I'm very happy with this first home win in an official game, of course. I think we entered in the game excellent, very good.

"This is very good for our mentality that we believed until [the] end. We didn't change our style [of play], we were very good in possession.

"It's not easy to break down the opponent because they're almost eight or nine players behind the ball always, and you need good combination, good technique, first touch, running in the space."

On Ollie McBurnie: "He proved already many times he can be the decision maker. He's very important for us because you see immediately in the training ground he's a leader. The boys like him very much already, he's positive and this is important."

Oxford United manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Oxfordshire:

"We changed the shape several times just to try and give ourselves a little bit more of a foothold.

"Of course they start and score a goal early, which is very disappointing from our perspective, and then to come in at half-time - I thought we rode our luck really first half.

"We ended up scoring two very good goals, both from set-pieces, but ultimately we probably should have been a couple more goals down because it was far too easy for them to open us up and create chances.

"[We] Switched to a five [at the back in the] second half to give us a bit of grip in the game defensively.

"We didn't get up the pitch enough, but I don't think they had many big chances. I thought we looked quite solid. You expect to see the game out."

This is not a loaded question I’d like to know what things you think need ironing out ?
I think we need a box to box midfielder and a better way of getting out from the back - or quicker way .

I haven't checked but would scoring goals at away grounds influence the position? Or does playing on the Sabbath constitute a venal sin with a going down to hell style punishment?
