I would think so mate, I’m sure most of his CB appearances are in a back 3 rather than a two.

what a day full house good atmosphere and very good performance and first win in premier league for 8 years not one had a bad game

think we surprise quite a few team especially on counter attack only bad thing about today was Seelt getting injured like look of Alderete and what a ball for first goal onwards and upwards

If Mukiele signs, I don't think they will sign another CB.

With Ballard missing a third or so of most seasons and injuries to O’Nien, Alese, Hjelde and now Seelt I think we have to.

Wasn’t there some ‘Alderete isn’t much of a passer’ craic.

He pinged some gorgeous balls about, half fit.

Xhaka didn’t do much, but he did ****ing loads. He lifts us just by existing. He is an immaculate footballer. You can see why his career has been Arsenal and Bayer.

Everyone was class but I’ll say this and it’s not a dig at anyone.

I said all through pre season that Ballard was PL all day. He was ****ing brilliant top to bottom he was close to a 10 for me.

I can see that happening to be fair, I still think we will though as club seem to think it’s vital we have the spine with lots of quality.

I’m sure Phil smith said yesterday from what club have told him there with be another centre back coming in (on top of Mukiele)

But based on history Ballard needs cover. I love Ballard so not being critical but I think their forward was his type, I think a clever quick player is where we judge his step up. He’s an outstanding competitor Ballard. I really like the look of him by Alderete and Haaland bouncing off them.

Ballards block from diouf might be the best I’ve seen. Might have put in the best run off 4 back to back performances I’ve seen from a Sunderland player. Please stay fit

    Aye.

And less games and more recovery time will help him staying fit.

Big Dan is a beast, biggest fear for me is he stays fit and gets pinched.

It was a nice touch by RLB to put Rigg on for the last few minutes when the game was won.
The lad can now rightly say he’s a Premier League player and I bet the short appearance meant the world to him.
It will help when getting him to sign a contract.

In an earlier post, somebody mentioned that Tommy (Watson) didn’t make the Brighton bench today.
To be honest, I don’t think he would have made our bench today and even less likely when our injured and new players are available.

My brother after the match I thought xhaka was quiet today I asked him how many touches pacqueta had summed it up really

Really impressed with how we handled the occasion or thing of note we will not bullied this season very physical, Diarra is a beast and early impressions of alderete are good

Great result and performance what a day

Mayenda’s header went on slow motion, what a beautiful moment. It’s been a tough 10 or so years but KLD has brought out confidence back.

What a squad and back room staff he’s assembled.
