I started this thread to see how many geordies would comment, thus proving how many creep onto our board and i have to say there's more than i expected!

There's a hell of a lot more mate, check out any popular thread on our board and it's like cheap night on the Bigg Market, in the browsers.
Fair do's to most of them, they don't make themselves look stupid, like their brethren posting idiotic comments though.<ok>

The thing is though, I'm not one for this "your board, our board" bollocks. If you want to post somewhere free from other fans, you should probably use a private Sunderland forum where members have to be invited or approved <ok>. A few Sunderland lads use the Newcastle board and I have absolutely no problem with it. I don't think it makes them obsessed with us or that they're closet fans, they just like talking about football with like-minded people who happen to support a rival club.

Well said that man. no matter how much the mackems want to deny it because of the fact that we always beat them, they can't escape the fact that we are rivals.

From what I have observed you see to practise what you preach. However, the fact is that any Sunderland fan who goes on to the Newcastle section of this site and doesn't 'suck up to the Mags', are immediately labelled obsessed or otherwise face a barrage of personal abuse..

It works both ways, very much so. A lot of the time on here you get personal abuse regardless of what you're saying. I don't know of any Sunderland fan that sucks up to Newcastle fans, or vice versa. People who come onto boards to wind people up will have the piss taken out of them, but that's fair enough!

People need to get out of the habit of tarring everyone with the same brush.

Just look at me. Whenever I come over here there are a few individuals who get very wound up and lace into me in every way they can imagine, but there are also some good guys over here who enjoy a bit of banter. For that reason, I can't universally say that the Sunderland board is full of unwelcoming cockheads because, well, it isn't.

I think some people are a little too obsessed with cross-board posting to be honest. Half a dozen people seem to rant and rave about one of us being obsessed when we post over here, but I honestly don't even notice when Sunderland fans post on our board. It probably happens far more than I realise but it doesn't even register. It's just that little of a deal.

I don't think many Sunderland fans bother to post on your board, simply because it lnevitably turns into a slanging match...At least on here the Newcastle posters are on the whole given a fair chance, although it gets on many people's tits when some feel they need to pass negative comments on every Sunderland thread..

You couldn't be further from the truth to be honest. There are a number of decent people on here, but there are more than enough people who will still say "**** off you mag ****" if you say something like "Sunderland had a decent game today." Both boards are exactly the same in that respect though. If you come on to take the piss or make snidey comments, it's more than likely it'll turn into a slanging match.

I tend to mainly pass comments on threads about Newcastle, but this is often met with a sort of "about you not to you" response and shock at my audacity to try and defend my club.

The difference being though Big G is that there are a some of your fans who comment on every Sunderland article, and this just does not happen the other way round..

Its like an episode of the League of Gentleman, are you Edward? "We don't bother the outside world, we don't want it bothering us" I know Sunderland folk like to keep it in the family but you can't control an open forum.

What's the matter with you Reg?
Don't you realise when they post a load of **** on every thread, with the sole intention of disrupting said thread, it's JUST BANTER!
Then the bleeding hearts come on, feeling hard done by, as after 30 disrupted threads the one thread they have a reasonable comment to make, they get short shrift as we are all already pissed off with their brethren.
They can't have it both ways, you want reasonable chat, tell the Mongs to stay on their own board.
Which they wont, as they are all kids, including their Mod, who think it is clever to post **** every other post.

Said the other day I was tempted to go on their board and repay the favour and post things like "your team is ****" "your a thick ****" "dont know what your talking about" " everyone of our players is better than your players." On every thread no matter what it was about.

Why didn't I?
Because I have nada, zero, absolutely no interest in their club.
