If we're happy for le fee to be on the bench, we'll be the same at the back. Be surprised if another cb doesn't come in.
This will definitely happen . I would be massively against it but it could mean the mags being binned by the Saudis due to multi club ownership.
I know where it is and you’re right the place is downhill fast for both landlords and renters On the side of the latter sky high rents combined with absorbent service charges, limited parking etc makes it a bit of a hellscape and the city doesn’t have the jobs to support it I had been looking for a place up there, if you can recommend any areas via PM that aren’t knocking shops or ket dens it would be appreciated
I agree. Give it a couple of games. Club will wait to see where we need to improve, any injuries to replace. Etc etc.
Not surprised with that at all, obvious candidate Interested to see whose in the leadership committee by the end of the window
Granit Xhaka has been appointed Sunderland AFC’s captain ahead of the 2025-26 season. An accomplished leader on the domestic and international stage, the midfielder has previously assumed the role at Borussia Mönchengladbach and Arsenal. Xhaka also wore the armband on multiple occasions during an historic period in Bayer Leverkusen’s history, and he has captained Switzerland, with whom he has earned a record 137 caps, since 2020. The 32-year-old said: “It makes me incredibly proud to be captain of this Club and of this team. I hope to show my leadership on and off the pitch, helping my team-mates in the training ground and across the Club. To be part of Sunderland’s history, alongside some of the names who have worn the armband before, is an honour. People who know me know exactly what they’ll get – I’m someone who demands a lot. I’m a winner and I want to win – and I expect the same from my team-mates." Régis Le Bris added: “In the Premier League, it will be important to have consistency, maturity, and experience. Granit brings all these qualities. His behaviour so far has been very impressive, and on the field, you can see that his level is high. Others around him can feel this influence, and his leadership will support the team as we adapt to a different environment and face new challenges and opportunities. Granit’s role will also form part of a new leadership team, which will be finalised following the end of the summer transfer window.” Bit in bold does not read well for Dan Neil
Not sure it means Neil is away, no point naming that too soon for us to then sell someone from that group. Or we bring another really good leader into the club so want to see who is in the squad before announcing who else is in it
