Cant complain about Ndalas penalty... unlucky, good hit, could have hit the keeper on the back and gone in before it hit the floor...

One thing I liked was that compared to last couple of seasons when subs made us look weaker was that tonight when we made a lot more subs we seemed to carry on playing as well. Looks promising for the coming season I think we will surprise a few.
And even if some results go against us I will not be too unhappy if we carry on playing with the style and commitment we have shown in the last couple of games.

One thing I think the gaffer got wrong was bringing Egan off for Famewo. I think he should’ve brought Giles off for Famewo instead. Even at 2-3 up in injury time, Giles got forward when Ndala was tackled and the left side was too exposed. Wrexham crossed and scored the equaliser from that.

The way we’ve been playing is having both fullbacks get forward and have the number 6 drop deep as an extra centre-back. I think if Famewo fills in as that third centre-back and Giles comes off, we win that.

Contratian opinion. Yes we played some good stuff at times, but we were very sloppy too often, wasteful, too many wrong options taken, slow in possession....all against a Wrexham second XI. Didn't really get all the glowing comments tbh. Don't think Jak will be that happy. We need someone better alongside Lundstram in the centre. Should really have taken them to the cleaners. Got done by simple crosses to a bloke who hardly featured last season. Lessons to be learned and big improvements still needed. Disappointing as these cup games are potentially valuable games for our wider squad and for the money

Not disappointed at all with how we played in general.

Players off the mark with goals is very good.

If those crazy late few minutes get used to make us better at grinding out league victories when it really matters then that’s a good thing

The thing is, we haven't been conceding from crosses, last season or early part of this. Lot to prove for me this Famewo.

The second goal, Drameh nearly killed himself getting to the crosser while Kamara stood.

We didn’t have a first eleven out either with some good players due to come back in as well.

That was terribly anti-climatic. We were very good for about 60 minutes and deserved the win. Last 8 minutes were terrible. Still miles better than anything I saw last season.

He still has a lot to improve on. That defending for their equaliser was sloppy. A learning moment for him, hopefully.

Even more competition for places now there's no cup ties for the second tier to get a game before Jan.

Loads of positives tonight though. Only real negative - the keeper. Let's just hope he's not called on for the rest of the season.

The good thing is how excited the fans are, we had 1300 there tonight, everyone seems to be looking forward to the season. Hopefully it will live up expectations and not be as dour as the last two seasons.
