We spent circa £240 million on the daft, aborted, Rwanda scheme ... the ongoing costs of operation of that, if we had proceeded with it, would have been astronomical ... and with no guarantee that those sent there wouldn't be entitled to return to the UK (at our cost) if their claims / appeals were successful ... and the projected cost per individual sent there? ... circa £150k!! ...
In terms of the cash analysis ... the cost of sending one fully loaded Boeing 777-300ER to Rwanda would have cost the British taxpayer £82.5 million ... or,, using your numbers, the equivalent of building 16 hotels ...
There is no reason for us to be in this mess whatsoever, and it's all because MP's of all parties have been constantly looking for quick fix answers and throwing money down the draw,
Just do all the sums, not just the ones you chose to do, £240M, £500M, £82.5M, tbph I'm losing track of it all, so let's just say £5M a day, every single ****ing day, for years. You could have slapped up a building to accomodate migrants and the homeless, at £5M a throw, buidlings that the government would actually keep, buidlings that could have later of been adapted for social issues. China seem to manage in slinging up a building in no time, so it shouldn't be beyond our capability, give Chief a nice payrise and get him on the project...I'm sure I could help out with a few sketches on the back of cig packets. You can be the accountant.

No thanks mate ... not too keen on accountants ... dodgy ****ers![]()
Just give me the millions then, I'll look after it...

Yeh cos we need more of this don't weI know I'm preaching a bit ... (remember the Kenny Everett character with the oversized foam hands!!) ... but if we had invested those monies in ramped up claim assessing centres; not only would we have cut through the numbers currently waiting assessment, we'd also have created several hundred new jobs to pay taxes into the system...
Yeh cos we need more of this don't we

No doubt this officer will be dealt with for saying what most are thinking

Yes we can if we stop asylum claims. You are completely missing the point, you simpleton - we can't stop people seeking asylum ... and genuine asylum seekers will attain it ... but we need a means of coping with those that aren't ... and shooting the boats ain't one... outside of Twatter simpletons brainless noggins![]()
Funny ain't it
Lorry drivers get fined 10k per illegal that hops a lift over here and gets caught
Yet the rnli ship in hundreds a day and no fines.
Hmm
I'm not seeking asylum thanks mate but I dont think you have the qualifications to make such a diagnosis tbh.You belong in an asylum. Unfortunately, the Tories shut them all down in the 80s and 90s.

Nah pure lies it isYou said ‘wherever there are Muslims, heads get cut off and people get blown up’
is that true ?

Not sure all these £5 million buildings would get past planning but definitely by all means give me the pay rise!
Could stick them all down Cornwall I suppose, that's remote and rural enough.
