It may involve Newcastle, but that reported behaviour and attitude by any player that has a contract and is getting paid is pathetic. I'd be genuinely fuming if that was one of our players
Absolutely. Agree, entirely. Deplorable behaviour. Shouldn't be tolerated anywhere. Hilarious though cos it's the Mags
We're a smarter club though and wouldn't be promising players certain payrises or that we'd let them go if they gave us another season and then reneging entirely on that because it suddenly doesn't suit us. A contract isn't a blank cheque to treat a person how you want.
I really liked him there last season, he’s fast and can take people on which is good in a winger. Also gives us scope to bring in a top striker rather than a RW if that’s what the club are looking to do.
I said it above but this has all come about because they pulled a new contract last year so it’s not like he just woke up and decided **** Newcastle
Nobody knows the ins and outs to be fair though. Rumours they promised him he could leave this window and if he thinks they’re purposely pricing him out of a move he was promised then he will be pissed off. All speculation mind I’ve got no idea how true it is. What I will say though is listening to them ****ers trying to pretend they aren’t crying inside whilst claiming they have the power here and they’ll just make him stay is hilarious. Best case scenario they make him stay, he refuses to play and they’ve got that knacker Osula up front all season
This is true mate. That's why I've said "reported" in my post, however I bet it isn't a Million miles from the truth. Also Newcastle probably see Liverpool as a rival (lol) so don't want to sell. Personally, I thought Newcastle would kick on this season, won a cup, champions league etc......nothing happening. meanwhile back in Sunderland, chucking money about like a single bloke in a strip club on payday.
Maybe. But make a deal with people like that and bigger fool you quite frankly. My dad was one of the mildest men ever to walk the earth, five years away in WWII, and he always said " never trust an Arab". He never bad mouthed the Germans, Italians or any of the other axis forces, to him they were there to be beat and that was the end of it. But you could not mention an Arab to him!
Hi-De-Hi Campers! Landed in Wales yesterday for a few days Golf. Sat in the hottub before heading out in an hour or so for round 1 of 4. Bit of an old boys championship. For info, my form stinks Will share any ITK as it comes from the valleys. Heard we are interested in a couple from Merthyr.
I was terrified at the thought of playing them this season before seeing how the window has turned out. Expected them to make some good moves and even though I think we’ll still struggle I do think we’ve given ourselves a good chance of staying up. Few more additions to the squad and the thought of playing them isn’t quite as daunting as it was a month or two ago!
There's a lot of sense in what you say. I've worked for people like the owners of Newcastle and have seen, first hand, how they make random ad hoc decisions that seem trivial at the time. They then have to deal with the response and make another snap decision because they can't be bothered to think it through. Because they're dealing with people who they ultimately see as 'beneath them' they don't take their feelings into consideration. The whole thing escalates because they believe people are being big salaries so will just go along with whatever happens. But it's self destructive and often ends up in this kind of mess. As you say Isak is a human being who won't want to be seen as a disruptive character with no loyalty ... ... it seems, to me, he's been pushed into this and has decided to make a stance.
Promised moves or pay rises should never be verbal imo, get something on paper with a signature on it otherwise there's no point, especially when the reported agreement was with someone that is no longer there mate. But yes, I agree a contract doesn't mean a person can treat a person how you like, but on the other hand, that contract which he willingly signed for a set amount of years has made him a very rich young man.
That is something the club have done very well I think which is standing by the reported ‘gentleman’s agreements’ we made with the likes of Clarke, Jobe etc. Reflects well on us and I’d imagine would entice talented players to come to us knowing they won’t be held back from a big move and banned from the family BBQ.
