Yeah everyone will see things differently.

For me, he looked good on the ball but rarely had an impact on the game, admittedly I think he’d be more effective in this years team.

If we cash in the bank and no restrictions then sure, take a punt on him. But in our current position I think the money could be better spent.

I think he’s one of those midfielders that you don’t notice as much, but without them the other team can pass you by in midfield easily.

He put himself about a lot and was key to a lot of our pressing. Wouldn’t be surprised if the stats showed our defence was tighter when he played but I can’t be arsed to look.

Basically I think he’s an upgraded Slater.

His goal against Oxford showed his talent, not sure we have another player capable, maybe Belloumi?

I can’t get my head around the Puerta situation.

The EFL are trying to protect the financial future of our club by putting us under a fee restriction. Yet at the same time, allow us to pay £20k/week (complete guess) for a player they may turn around and say isn’t ours. Not including anything we’ve paid to Leverkusen.

Again, why would we loan him from FUS Rabat when he’s already OUR PLAYER?

The EFL does not have the authority to seize assets. Not even the UK government has that authority. If they did, they should’ve seized half a dozen clubs from arsehole owners by now.

Either something is seriously wrong with Baz’s reporting on this or the EFL are breaking the law.

Just because you’ve been banned from driving, doesn’t mean you no longer own your car.

He can be our player and still not be allowed to play, just as Zambrano wasn't able to play last season, despite being our player. It's one thing to be employed by a club, it's another to be allowed to play in an EFL competition. Obviously, one's a doping ban and the other's a inability to register, but the outcome is the same.

I agree it's stupid, the deal was done before the embargo and not allowing us to play him (or sell him) puts even more strain on the finances that the EFL are currently supposed to be protecting.

This is my point, OLM. Even if the fee restriction stands and we can’t register Puerta and Laalaoui, they’re still our players and we’re well within our rights to sell or loan them out this summer. The EFL can’t actually stop us from selling them so I find the reporting about it from Baz confusing. Getting them both registered would be great as it stops Puerta’s value depreciating and we can actually use them but if not, at least we can try to break even on Puerta and loan Laalaoui to Maribor or something.

I disagree that he didn't impact a game. Drove forward and played some great through balls that led to goals away at Bristol City and home to Plymouth if my memory serves me correctly. We don't have anyone else who could've done that for us from CM.
