I think this is relevant to the current situations with Wissa and Isak. Both players want to leave their current clubs and are willing to down tools to force a move. Their current clubs are standing firm with their valuations.

If players could unilaterally rip up their contracts whenever they feel like it, then Newcastle lose out on £150M. You could say ‘Well, Newcastle are owned by Saudi Arabia. What’s £150M to them?’ but it is relevant due to PSR. Clubs cannot spend freely. They need to show X amount of income against their expenses or else they breach PSR and get hit with sanctions. Selling Isak gives Newcastle huge PSR headroom. If he can just decide to **** off and rip up his contract, it throws the whole footballing economy out of whack. Newcastle lose out on crucial revenue whilst still having to carry the expense of the initial transfer fee for Isak.

I’m pretty sick of the whinging by footballers at the moment. The way they’re going on about the schedule and workload, you’d think they’re Russian factory workers in 1917. The schedule has increased because of their ridiculous, ever-increasing salaries. Higher salaries mean clubs need more money, which means more competitions and more games to secure revenue. If they want fewer games, their salaries need to decrease by about 60%.

We should just ignore them. Send them to Coventry so to speak. Ah **** it they’re already there.

Hughes needs a 5 year contract. It's about time we started to get value for our players when they move on.

    What we working on Lambo…

    Akintola
    Gelhardt
    Prem League midfielder loan
    Frigan

Last 2 dependant on fee restriction being lifted. If not, maybe another Prem league midfielder with no fee (similar to Ndala).

Midfielder loan makes sense, with Matazo available later in season and maybe Zambrano. Perhaps the other 2 midfielders who we may or may not own!

The "midfielder" from a PL club I've heard could be Sekou Kone at Man U. No fee loan.

Defensive midfielder, Mali U20 international. 2 goals and 2 assists for Man Utd Academy. Probably shows you what a no fee loan gets you.

I imagine he’s been well scouted though and been on Dublin/Hodges radar for a while.

Do we know if the club actually paid for him (or a least one payment of an agreed payment plan) and do we know that City are also paying him. And for that matter is he training with City? Not heard or seen reported any of those items?

He's definitely a prospect, whether or not he's got the ability to play 46 games as our main holding midfielder remains to be seen. I can only assume we want a cheap option in case we're allowed to sign Zambrano.

We've apparently held discussions with LDU Quito about taking him on loan again and then sorting out a transfer either next Summer or in January if the EFL decision is reduced. Obviously it isn't written into the contract, hence the tentative discussions I guess.

Big step up for Charlie that. He'll smash it, looks like a future captain.
